This week, Prague is positively dripping in romance, all thanks to the most magical February date imaginable: Valentine's Day! ❤️ Can you even believe it's almost here?! I've got my eyes on a gorgeously intricate lace tutu from the boutique on Národní třída, and a delicate pink feather boa just begging to be draped over my shoulders... a bit of sparkle and whimsy for the occasion, you understand? 😉
Back To The Magic Of The Stage!
Speaking of sparkle, I'm simply buzzing after witnessing a positively dazzling performance at the National Theatre last night. This is how you do ballet, my dears! We're talking elegant lines, breath-taking jumps, and costumes so stunning they had me twirling in my seat (just a little bit!). You can't imagine how jealous I was of those dancers. Seriously, my dear readers, a girl can dream!
Oh, and guess who's bringing back a beautiful little Prague-inspired ballerina souvenir for your precious little ones? That's right, my darlings - Pink Tutu Princesses! Think exquisitely tiny tutus with sweet little hand-painted roses and miniature pearl-beaded necklaces to add a touch of fairytale magic to your dancing darlings' outfits! Just a teeny little peek into the pink-tutu filled world of this week's Prague adventures…
Pink Tutu Travels: A Horse & Carriage Adventure! 🎠
The journey from Derbyshire to Prague was a fairytale of its own, a beautifully rhythmic ride on a plush crimson train, where I finally finished reading that new book about ballet history, Twirling Through Time. I'm quite sure you'll agree, there's something simply enchanting about train journeys!
This time though, a touch of whimsy and romance was needed to perfectly round off my Prague experience. The moment I arrived, I took to the cobbled streets and boarded a delightful horse-drawn carriage that trundled me right to the heart of the Old Town Square. And did you know? Prague has a truly fab little ponies & horses farm nestled amongst the cobblestone squares in the old city - what's a tutu-wearing ballerina to do? I just had to pay them a visit, naturally! I simply adored the chance to walk amidst those beautiful steeds, with their silky manes and gently flicking tails. I actually managed to persuade the farm owner to let me try on one of their saddle blankets - now that was an exciting, albeit slightly less-tutu-appropriate, moment!
Dress Up and Dine in Style: A Bohemian Banquet!
Now, onto the essential part of any Prague adventure: finding the most darling dresses, and enjoying heavenly gastronomic delights! Speaking of fashion, this city has a treasure trove of boutiques overflowing with whimsical loveliness. You simply MUST see the beautiful Czech lace. Oh my, my dear friends - it’s utterly heavenly, like intricate lace embroidery woven from moonbeams!
I've also been browsing in some delightfully quirky vintage shops, finding such treasures – a few beautiful vintage shawls in a rich burnt orange (I must add some sparkle to them with my sewing machine!), some elegant cream-coloured gloves, and, of course, a truly dazzling brooch for my darling grandma (I know she’ll love it!). She always says "Pink tutus and vintage brooches are for life, not just for the holidays," (my grandmother is just as fabulously stylish as my pink tutus are fabulously fluffy!)
Prague simply oozes glamour! In the evenings, after shopping till my heart's content, I’ve been indulging in the most delicious food this beautiful city has to offer! From creamy potato soup served with crunchy bread rolls, to steaming hot Czech dumplings piled high with rich, creamy goulash, to a deliciously spiced chocolate truffle and hazelnut parfait dessert (oh, how lovely) - I have eaten my weight in delicious food!
Prague In Pink Tutu Style!
So, there you have it, a little glimpse into my Prague life. It's a whirlwind of adventure, colour, and a whole lotta pink, with the odd pinch of glamour sprinkled in!
