Pink Tutu Prague - Post #425: A Dance through History! 🩰💖

Hey darlings! It's Emma, your favourite tutu-clad traveller, and I'm bursting with excitement to tell you all about my absolutely divine trip to Prague! This enchanting city has stolen my heart, and trust me, I've had a few hearts stolen in my time 😉. It's like stepping straight into a fairy tale – cobbled streets, historic buildings, and an energy that simply vibrates with magic.

This week, my fabulous pink tutu took me on an incredible journey through Prague's rich history and captivating culture. As always, I wanted to experience the best this amazing city has to offer, so I've compiled a little list of all the wonders I’ve encountered this week!

A Parisian in Prague: I started my week by jumping on a magical train journey, leaving Derbyshire behind and gliding towards the heart of Europe. As I travelled through the countryside, I found myself mesmerized by the rolling hills, sprawling fields, and charming villages that painted a picture of idyllic Europe. The anticipation built inside me as I felt that familiar sense of excitement – it was time for an adventure!

Once I arrived in Prague, the beauty truly took my breath away. Imagine cobbled streets lined with colorful houses, towering cathedrals reaching towards the heavens, and bustling squares alive with street performers and joyous laughter. Every corner seemed to hold a new wonder waiting to be discovered!

Tutufying the World: My first mission was to explore the historical heart of Prague. The Charles Bridge, a magnificent medieval masterpiece, held my attention for a good hour. With its ornate statues, the setting sun painting the river gold, it was like a fairytale unfolding before me!

The next stop was the majestic Prague Castle, a breathtaking sight perched atop a hill. Imagine sprawling courtyards, majestic buildings, and stunning views. Every inch whispered tales of emperors, queens, and knights – pure romance, wouldn’t you agree? The castle even held its own resident ballerina – well, sort of. It had this fabulous bronze statue of a young woman dressed in a fluffy tutu. I practically shrieked! It was the perfect homage to ballet!

Fashion in the City of Hundred Spires: You know I adore a good dose of fashion, and Prague truly delivered. The shops were bursting with quirky vintage pieces and bohemian styles that sent my imagination soaring. I managed to pick up a truly beautiful embroidered vintage shawl to complete my wardrobe – perfect for adding a touch of Parisian flair to any ensemble. Of course, the main highlight of my trip was definitely the incredible ballet performance at the Estates Theatre! This was truly the icing on the cake. I felt so elegant and at home surrounded by the music, the graceful movement, and the magic of live performance.

An Ode to Ballet and Prague: The performance on this beautiful 18th June was a whirlwind of romance, passion, and artistic genius. The ballet, "Sleeping Beauty," was breathtakingly beautiful. I found myself transported to another world, enchanted by the story unfolding on stage. The dancers were magnificent, their bodies flowing with a power and grace that left me speechless. Their tutus were glorious and filled with romance, making every turn and jump all the more thrilling.

The History of Ballet: Prague has always held a special place in my heart – it’s where the earliest form of ballet took hold centuries ago! Did you know the oldest surviving ballet score dates back to Prague’s royal court in 1581? Just the thought makes me want to do a grand jeté across the dance floor.

It was amazing to explore the city that nurtured and celebrated ballet before it found its way across Europe and ultimately to Derbyshire, where I fell in love with this enchanting art form!

Shopping Spree!: A day well spent shopping for the perfect shoes can be a dance all of its own, and I am no stranger to a bit of retail therapy, particularly when I’m in such a fabulous location. As the last rays of sun graced the city, I found myself wandering the charming boutiques tucked away in the city’s cobbled streets. There’s a sense of adventure when it comes to discovering fashion treasures in such magical surroundings. It was truly a treat to browse the gorgeous wares of this beautiful city! I must admit I picked up a couple of adorable velvet bags, with just the right hint of gold trim, to add to my collection.

The Perfect Conclusion: As the evening fell and a warm summer breeze swept through Prague’s charming streets, I couldn't resist a final dance through the heart of the city. The ancient cobblestones echoed the clickety-clack of my stylish high heels, creating a beat for my graceful steps. The warm air danced through my hair as I waltzed under the twinkling lights. And the magic of Prague seeped into my soul, a memory forever etched into my heart!

Until next Wednesday darlings, stay sparkly, keep dancing, and always remember to spread a little pink tutu love! 😉

Xoxo, Emma.
