Good Wednesday morning, darlings! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind week in Prague! 🩰
Oh my, where do I even begin? I'm still feeling the magical energy of this breathtaking city! My pink tutu and I are utterly charmed, and I can already tell you, Prague has definitely found a new favourite amongst my travels. It's practically overflowing with charm, history, and beautiful architecture, making me want to twirl non-stop!
This trip has been fuelled by a truly spectacular ballet performance, and that, my loves, is how I always seem to travel! I find a show that I adore and get swept away on a fabulous, tutu-filled adventure! This week, I waltzed my way over to Prague's iconic Estates Theatre, a stunning piece of history that even took my breath away, which is saying something! My tutus are rarely breathless, let me tell you. 😉
Inside the theatre, a masterpiece was waiting for me - the ethereal The Sleeping Beauty, a true ballet classic, performed by the Prague National Theatre Ballet. It was absolutely magical! The costumes were to die for, my favourite part of any performance, of course! And the sheer talent of the dancers? Simply divine! Every graceful gesture and perfect pirouette left me completely spellbound.
But darling, let's rewind the story a bit, shall we? Prague has a unique history of dance, dating back to the medieval period! In those days, you had all manner of entertainment, from traditional dances to masked balls, even jugglers! All rather fabulous, don't you think? It truly was a place for all kinds of performances. I'd be delighted to wear a medieval costume and join in a little waltz, that is if they weren't too busy juggling! 😉
The heart of Prague’s ballet history, however, really comes alive in the 18th century! It was during this time, that the Estates Theatre was first built - now my very own palace of dreams, so it's truly quite the history lesson in my life, let me tell you! And over time, the theatre's history became interwoven with ballet, evolving and growing with some of the world's finest dance companies taking to its stage.
Imagine, dear friends, waltzing in this magnificent theatre with your tutu swishing! I just had to visit, naturally. It was all my favourite things - history, ballet, and exquisite architecture! Talk about a winning combination! The intricate details and lavish decor left me breathless - much more than a regular tutu performance, but I guess a touch of history tends to do that, eh?
Fashion Adventures:
Okay, now for a bit of a fashion fix, as you all know I love a little bit of a shopping spree. 🛍️ Prague, much to my delight, had an array of gorgeous boutiques that could keep even a devoted ballet enthusiast like myself quite busy! I even found this divine antique shop overflowing with costume jewellery and lace - oh the possibilities! A pink tutu is simply crying out for some embellishments! You’ve no idea how excited I am about transforming this into the ultimate tutu! It's a good thing I bought a few of those amazing suitcases. We are truly on an adventure, let me tell you!
Train Travels:
Now, I confess to having a very specific taste in transportation, as you all know - trains, with their cozy charm, allow for ample room for a large travelling tutu! Plus, who doesn't love a bit of scenic countryside rolling by as you indulge in a spot of tea and a book? You really can't beat that! So of course, I made sure to ride one of those magnificent red trains that Prague is famous for. It was simply perfect! They feel as grand as Prague's history! I even found time for a little visit to Prague Castle, a breathtaking palace perched on a hill overlooking the city! Oh, I tell you, this place just oozes grandeur.
Pink Power:
Speaking of grandeur, the pink tutu is thriving in this incredible city! Everywhere we went, from the bustling market squares to the quaint coffee shops, it turned heads and spread smiles wherever we ventured. People genuinely seem to love pink and tutus here, which is so delightful! I love to share my love of tutus with the world, it’s like magic, but imagine, a tutu, the embodiment of beauty, grace, and joy, as a way to spread happiness across the globe? My dream, darling! To spread a wave of pink-tutu positivity across the whole world, a Tutu-Tsunami! A bit grandiose, but why not aim for the stars, eh? 😉
