Prague, Darling, Prague! - #451

"A Twirl Through Prague: Tutu Adventures in the City of a Hundred Spires"

Well, hello there, my gorgeous little tutu enthusiasts! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means? Another enchanting journey through the world of pink, tutus and all things wonderful from yours truly, Emma, your ballet-loving blogger, ready to share the latest escapade! This week, I'm waltzing into Prague, the enchanting Czech capital, a city as elegant and fairytale-like as a ballet scene. Oh, Prague, you've got me twirling with excitement!

Before we start twirling around the city, let me tell you, darling, my arrival was nothing short of glamorous! I made my grand entrance via the "Queen of Rails" - the legendary Eurostar! It’s a journey that allows for endless dreaming and pre-show prep – let's face it, travelling by train is all about embracing the moment and feeling like the belle of the ball. My favourite part, of course, is the chance to transform the train carriage into my personal runway. Who needs the front row when you've got the aisle of a sleek train?! The whispers and approving nods from my fellow passengers? Pure validation for my perfectly-pink tutu and the divine pink cashmere cardigan, a subtle touch of extravagance against the sleek, grey leather upholstery.

My luggage, darling? Well, naturally, it’s an oversized vintage trunk that I adore. Not just for the retro charm, but because it holds everything a discerning ballet enthusiast needs: enough sparkly ballet shoes to perform Swan Lake every night for a month, my collection of exquisite ballet journals and even a little fluffy pink tea cosy for the journey. Let’s face it, a pink tutu girl is all about practicality and glamour, all rolled into one perfect pink bow.

After settling in my dreamy boutique hotel - it was in the perfect spot for ballerina-friendly cobbled streets, perfect for practicing pirouettes and finding those whimsical photo opportunities – I indulged in the one activity that’s more essential than sleep itself… you guessed it: SHOPPING! And oh my, did Prague live up to the hype. Rows upon rows of vintage lace, the most delicate and dazzling porcelain figures (so ballerinas, right?) and oh, those magnificent Czech crystal shop windows – you’d swear you were looking into a fairytale world. I walked away with enough beautiful trinkets to stock a ballerina’s fairytale cottage and my suitcase was brimming with exquisite vintage brooches and crystal jewellery that make my heart sing!

Of course, Prague, like all well-dressed cities, deserves a fabulous show! This evening was a grand affair. The majestic "Pink Tutu Prague Ballet" - such an apt name, isn’t it?! It’s a testament to the city's appreciation for all things grand and magical, just like the world of ballet itself. Imagine: graceful dancers flitting across the stage, with their pirouettes illuminating the city lights beyond the grand, Baroque theatre window! My eyes were positively glued to the performance, drinking in the beauty of each intricate step. You just can't help but feel transported to another world, darling! It's that feeling that keeps me twirling with excitement for each new adventure.

The atmosphere in the theatre was electric - the audience’s hushed reverence and excitement palpable in the air, like a chorus of anticipatory applause. But the best part of any performance, darling, is the after-show, right? A chance to share those enchanting moments with kindred spirits, fuelled by the excitement and sheer artistry of what we’d just experienced. You wouldn't believe the fascinating people I met, all dressed in their finest (there was a lot of tulle, which delighted me, naturally!) discussing their own journeys, and how they too are embracing the magic of dance.

Now, the pièce de résistance, my dearest, you already know where this is going - THE TUTUS! Ah, the delicate, frilled, pink magnificence that had to be explored! Prague did not disappoint. It was a symphony of shimmering silk, satin and feathers - each tutu a testament to the art and craftmanship that makes these creations truly special. I had a waltz through one of the city's most charming boutiques, where the air seemed to thrum with the same magical energy I’d experienced at the ballet. Each tutu, my love, was a little dream-filled confection, each a masterpiece in its own right, and the shop owner herself a veritable queen of tutus! It’s times like these, I know my mission in life is going perfectly. Get everyone wearing a pink tutu, it's my personal "Dream Big" project. (Maybe I’ll give her a tour of my Derbyshire tutu collection next week).

And speaking of Derbyshire, my little angels, my lovely ballet followers are eagerly awaiting my return! It was such a whirlwind tour, filled with graceful pirouettes and Parisian-esque chic, it’s only natural to return and share some Prague-inspired choreography with my beloved class.

My darling friends, that brings us to the end of my Prague escapade, but believe me, this is only the beginning. More cities to explore, more performances to revel in, and countless more twirls in exquisite tutus to come!

Until next Wednesday, keep twirling, keep shining, and never be afraid to dream big, darling! I’ll be back here at www.pink-tutu.com, where the world’s a stage, and life is a dazzling dance! Don’t forget to follow my pink tulle journey!

With a flourish and a heartfelt bow, Emma
