Prague in Pink: Tutu Tales From the City of a Hundred Spires (Post #511)

Darling readers,

How do you do? It's Wednesday, so you know what that means: time for another dazzlingly pink adventure from your favourite tutu-clad traveller, right here on www.pink-tutu.com!

This week, I've traded the cobbled streets of Derbyshire for the magical cobblestone alleys of Prague. And let me tell you, this city is truly a dream!

Pink Power in Prague:

From the moment I stepped off the train (with a graceful twirl, of course), Prague embraced me with open arms and stunning architecture. Imagine a fairytale city, steeped in history, where gothic towers pierce the sky and the Vltava River whispers tales of bygone times. Oh, the charm! Oh, the beauty!

But let's be honest, what's a pink-loving ballerina to do in such a magnificent city? Well, naturally, the first stop on my itinerary had to be The Estates Theatre (aka Stavovské divadlo) - a historic jewel box that happens to be the very theatre where Mozart's iconic opera, "The Marriage of Figaro," had its premiere in 1786. I practically pirouetted through the doors, so excited to immerse myself in the hallowed halls where music and history collide.

And just for the record, a little-known fact for you ballet enthusiasts: "The Marriage of Figaro" had quite a connection with the tutu! You see, back in the 18th century, when the opera debuted, the ballerinas (known as "danseuses" back then) were indeed twirling about the stage...in rather elaborate skirts that looked strikingly similar to what we'd recognise as a tutu. Talk about a fascinating connection!

Now, darling readers, the Estates Theatre is an absolute delight. The ornate interiors, with their velvet seating, gilded ornamentation and a beautiful stage that's literally bursting with grandeur, sent my inner ballerina into a flurry of excitement. I could almost feel the presence of past artists, their performances echoing in the air, the very stage they graced with their talents whispering tales of artistry and grandeur.

After the tour (and some absolutely fabulous selfies for the 'gram, obviously!), I took a graceful stroll to The Old Town Square. A charming little hub filled with vendors selling exquisite glass ornaments, and charming coffee shops where one can sip steaming cups of warm loveliness whilst admiring the artistry of the Astronomical Clock. Now, I do love a good timepiece, and this one is certainly one for the ages, with its astrological characters that dance with time itself!

Speaking of dances, dear reader, did I mention that the beauty of Prague inspires me to twirl even more? Well, it does! Every cobbled corner, every glistening riverbank, seems to encourage a pirouette, and frankly, I’m all for it!

Fashion & Fabulousity:

No trip is complete without a touch of fashion, isn’t it? So, naturally, I took a little detour to the Palladium Shopping Centre. A vibrant world of clothes, beauty products and all sorts of delightful goodies that would put even the most seasoned fashionista in a giddy frenzy!

Now, you may know me well enough to understand my fascination with all things pink! So naturally, I couldn’t resist trying on every pink-hued piece in sight – silk blouses, chic ballet flats, playful tulle skirts... The possibilities were practically endless! I felt like a princess from a fairytale (who just happened to have a strong obsession with the colour pink).

Finding My Feet:

Of course, no journey to Prague would be complete without a taste of their fabulous ballet scene! So I headed to The National Theatre, another landmark with a long and illustrious history in the world of dance.

My darling reader, let me tell you: there is something truly magical about seeing a ballet in a foreign city! You’re not just watching a performance; you’re experiencing an art form intertwined with culture and history, making the whole experience truly breathtaking. And believe me, I was enthralled from start to finish!

Pink Tutu Travels & Tales

As for how I fund my travels? Well, darling readers, the magic of ballet never fails! I love to grace stages far and wide with my pink-tutu'd elegance, both in formal ballet productions and exciting street performances! A twirl here, a grand jeté there - all that dancing pays for my adventures and lets me share my pink passion with the world. It’s all in a day's work for this pink-loving ballerina!

And of course, I’m always looking for ways to get more people wearing tutus! Maybe you should consider adding a pink tutu to your wardrobe? Think about it: it’s a statement piece, an embodiment of joyful self-expression, and who doesn't love a bit of twirling now and then? You could join the Pink Tutu movement - it's all about embracing the power of pink and embracing life with grace and a dash of glitter!

So, stay tuned, darling readers, as my Prague adventure continues. I’ll be posting new stories and photos every Wednesday, straight from this beautiful city. And be sure to tell all your friends about my pink tutu mission. Let's make the world a pink-tutu-loving place!

Until next Wednesday,

Emma xoxo
