Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballerina's Bohemian Rhapsody (Post 601)

Hello darlings! It's your favourite tutu-loving blogger Emma, back with another fabulously pink post! 🩰 This week, I'm taking you all on a whirlwind trip with me to the beautiful city of Prague! Oh my, you wouldn't believe the adventures I've been having! I mean, where else can you be whisked away on a magical train journey (I managed to nab a seat on the ‘Czech out Prague’ special, how fun!) through the most stunning scenery, with views that would make even a swan lake scene weep, to a city where history meets fashion, and ballet dances through every cobbled street? Prague has really stolen my heart - it’s like a fairytale come to life! 💖

And talking about fairytales, let's chat tutus! Oh darling, you wouldn't believe the fabulous vintage tutus I found at a darling little boutique called "Tutu & Tiara." (Honestly, I swear it's like the name was made for me!). They had so many gorgeous creations, from the sweetest pink tulle ones to sparkling sequined masterpieces fit for a queen, that I couldn't leave without a new addition to my collection. Naturally, I went with a beautiful dusky rose tutu that swishes so beautifully when I twirl!

Speaking of twirling, let me tell you all about my trip to the magical National Theatre, which is simply breathtaking! The architecture, the plush velvet seats, the ornate chandelier - pure ballet-watching perfection! My heart practically skipped a beat when I heard the opening strains of “Swan Lake" 🎶 as I took my seat. It’s truly an iconic performance, one that resonates with everyone who's ever dreamt of graceful leaps and elegant movements! I even caught a glimpse of the stunning costumes and a glimpse of the dazzling ballerina’s pink tutus, absolutely perfect, of course! ✨

The week here has been filled with explorations of Prague's enchanting side. I've had my fill of the grand architecture and bustling markets. Oh darling, imagine finding hand-painted china dolls in one window, handmade soaps in the next, and an endless supply of bohemian jewellery just around the corner! It's a veritable feast for the senses.

And, as a true pink enthusiast, you can't imagine my excitement at the adorable little tea shop, “The Pink Teacup”. This place is a haven of pink floral patterns, charmingly adorned with floral motifs and serving the most divine cuppa and delectable sweet treats. You really should treat yourselves to a Pink Rose Teacake, darling, just the ticket for an afternoon delight! It made me feel as if I were Alice, slipping down the rabbit hole into a wonderfully enchanting world. ✨

But you know what they say, every ballet needs a bit of fun. And what could be more fun than a thrilling horse-drawn carriage ride through the ancient streets of Old Town?! Just picture me, all in pink, riding through Prague, my hair whipping in the breeze, feeling like a true princess! 👑 The steeds are magnificent and the driver's attire reminded me of something straight out of a fairytale. The clip-clop of hooves echoed on the cobblestone streets and I even found myself humming along to “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice" as I rode along. Honestly, every day has felt like I've stepped onto the set of my favourite ballet movie!

To ensure my pink-tastic travels continued with maximum fun, I've been making time to attend the best ballet classes Prague has to offer. Oh, the thrill of perfecting pirouettes and learning the elegant art of pas de bourrée amongst a roomful of like-minded dancers! This really adds to the joy of a ballerina on tour! ✨ I love learning from local teachers who have mastered the art of classic ballet moves! They’re like fairies, making our movements feel as weightless and graceful as a cloud!

Oh darling, I have to mention how in love I am with Prague Castle. The incredible history of this place is so fascinating. From the Royal Palace to the magical Golden Lane, it truly is a fairy-tale setting that has taken my breath away! As I walked around the beautiful gardens, I couldn't help but think how much I would love to dance here, surrounded by breathtaking beauty. Oh, to be a ballerina amongst the stonework of the castle walls! It really sparked a new appreciation for ballet’s history for me! 🩰

Don't worry, darlings, my trip wouldn’t be complete without a little retail therapy! Prague is a shopper's paradise. Just wandering the city's quaint boutiques and charming markets, browsing the handcrafted treasures and elegant designs has made my trip! A vintage pink hat for the perfect fairytale look? Oh, I bought one in an instant. An adorable antique porcelain ballerina to decorate my dressing room? I grabbed her in a heartbeat. Oh, the things you find! I had to take home the perfect pink velvet clutch bag. You know I love a great bag, darlings! ✨ The whole place makes me want to get lost in a world of silk, tulle, and sparkling embellishments!

And now for a little taste of the delicious treats Prague has to offer: Prague is, of course, famed for its divine Czech cuisine, and let me tell you, my darling readers, the local pastries are a dream come true! The combination of creamy custard and fluffy dough makes me weak at the knees. They’re a must-have for any visit, honestly!

And darling, no visit to Prague would be complete without enjoying some local Czech beers at a charming traditional pub, complete with wooden benches, authentic brews, and maybe even a little live music. (After all, a ballerina needs a little relaxation every now and then! 😄) I enjoyed some light music from a local string quartet. There’s nothing more enchanting than the sound of soft music floating in the air as you sit in a beer garden on a crisp autumn night. It really does feel like something out of a dreamy waltz. 🎻

All in all, darlings, this has been the most amazing adventure in the city that’s captured my heart, the most stylish city in the Czech Republic. Prague is definitely a city I'd happily explore for longer! So much beauty and grace and joy! A truly unforgettable experience that made me want to add Prague to my list of “Best Destinations for Tutu-Loving Travellers". I'll be leaving a little piece of my heart (and a little bit of pink glitter) here, and taking some amazing memories (and maybe a little suitcase bursting with fabulous finds!) back home. Until next time, darlings!

XOXO Emma

PS: Did I mention how much I love travelling by train?! Just imagine, darling: The chugging rhythm, the clickety-clack of the wheels, the scent of old leather and polished wood, all creating an atmosphere of enchantment that whispers tales of adventure and excitement. *And did you know that some of the very first tutus were worn for equestrian performances?! Oh, it truly warms the pink-tinted soul to see how ballet has such an interwoven connection with equestrian adventures! *

* PPS: Keep an eye out on www.pink-tutu.com next Wednesday for my next exciting adventure! You'll be able to discover more ballet history, some incredible outfits, more gorgeous tutus and I might even try a little ballet-inspired dance for you! 😊 💕 *
