Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballet Dream in the City of a Hundred Spires (Post #795)

Hello, darlings! Emma here, and this week, I'm bringing you all the delightful delights of Prague! Oh, it’s been a whirlwind of pink perfection and ballet bliss. Just picture it: cobblestone streets, towering spires, and me, twirling through it all in a gorgeous, fluffy pink tutu. Yes, darling, it truly is a fairytale!

Now, if you've been following my adventures on www.pink-tutu.com, you know that this week’s Wednesday post marks my return to blogging after a thrilling fortnight in Derbyshire, where I danced the day away at the Buxton Festival, then performed at the Matlock Ballet Club. Oh, the joys of the theatre, you know?! It was so inspiring, reminding me of my own dancing dreams – which brings me to Prague!

You see, darling, Prague is not just about castles and beer – it's about beauty, history, and yes, ballet. You wouldn't believe the wealth of ballet history here, dating back to the 16th century. It's truly the city where dance and culture meet. Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a hidden little gem of a studio tucked away in the heart of Old Town - the Prague Ballet Conservatory! And of course, I simply had to waltz in. The energy, the passion… oh, it was intoxicating.

I just knew I couldn't leave Prague without indulging in a spot of shopping for a new tutu, darling. After all, a new tutu in every city is practically a rule, isn't it? And where better to indulge than on the charming streets of Prague's Old Town?

The boutiques here are positively overflowing with stunning designs, fabrics, and colours - from classic white to the most vibrant pinks you can imagine. Let me tell you, the moment I spotted the one, it was like a pink explosion! It’s so floaty, it practically lifts off the ground. Oh, I do love a good pink! I'm positively thrilled.

But back to my journey through Prague’s enchanting world of ballet!

It wasn't all about shopping, of course. I'm a ballet enthusiast at heart, darling, and I had a date with destiny – the National Theatre, where I was going to see none other than Swan Lake. This, my loves, was not just any ballet. This was a breathtaking, heart-wrenching, utterly mesmerising production. It felt like the very essence of the ballet poured into each delicate movement.

It’s impossible not to be captivated by the magical stories of ballet, the sheer passion and skill on display. Seeing the story come to life in such a historic and beautifully preserved theatre… Oh, it truly touched my soul! After the show, the National Theatre was even more magical bathed in the moonlight, like a giant pink tutu draped over the Vltava river!

But that wasn’t all, darling. Later that week, I was treated to an equally captivating experience – the Prague Ballet in their grand performance of Don Quixote. Talk about a whirlwind of emotions! And my goodness, the music! It was simply phenomenal. Oh, what a treat! You see, I find a deep meaning in ballet – it speaks to our humanity, it transcends language, it moves us in ways nothing else can. And in Prague, this magic was amplified tenfold.

Oh, the wonders of travel! Prague, with its stunning architecture, captivating history, and, of course, its remarkable ballet scene, is a place that truly captures the heart. This city, with its magical bridges and enchanting old squares, feels like it’s painted in shades of pink, and so does my world when I’m wearing my tutu, you know?

You see, I truly believe that everyone, everyone should embrace their inner pink tutu princess. It’s a symbol of freedom, of dreams, of pure unadulterated joy! You know, there’s nothing like twirling in a tutu. It lifts the spirits, darling! I think I may just have to leave mine here, and leave it to a lucky Prague citizen!

Now, let's see what's in store for next week, shall we? My itinerary’s a whirlwind of colour, style, and of course, a good helping of ballet, darling!

Until next Wednesday, stay glamorous, keep your eyes on those pink tutus, and I'll be back to tell you all about it!

Love, Emma
