Prague Pretty: A Ballet-tastic Blog From a Pink Tutu Princess - Post #808

Bonjour mes chéries! Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to Prague, and it was EVERYTHING! I'm here with post number 808 on your favourite Pink Tutu website (that's www.pink-tutu.com in case you're new!). Get yourselves comfy, grab a cuppa (and maybe a pink cupcake for good measure!) because this one is jam-packed with all things ballet-tastic, fashion fabulous, and oh-so-pretty Prague!

First, let's talk tutus! Prague, I've discovered, is a city brimming with elegance and sophistication. It’s the perfect spot for a ballerina to explore and feel utterly at home. After all, every girl deserves a tutu moment, even a pink one in the Czech Republic! I made a beeline to the quaint little boutique on the edge of Old Town Square. You won’t believe this, I found the most exquisite, dreamy, soft pink tutu that whispered my name! It practically shimmered in the sunshine, just waiting for the perfect ballerina to grace its flouncy tulle. And who better than me, right? 😉

Speaking of the city centre, imagine me twirling across those cobblestone streets, every step a dainty "pliĂ©" beneath my pink tulle dream. I had to make sure that I was feeling super confident in my Tutu! Nothing like a bit of ballet to make a girl feel powerful, and with the added pink touch, well, it's just magical. The grand architecture, the majestic churches, the charming bridges – Prague's scenery truly inspired me! I felt like I had stepped right out of a classic ballet scene.

But back to my ballet obsession, which, let's be honest, is pretty much a lifelong love affair. After a spot of sightseeing, my heart couldn't resist a visit to the National Theatre. This magnificent venue, oh, it was utterly magnificent, a jewel of Prague! They have ballet on most days, and even had an enchanting performance of "The Nutcracker" which took me back to my Derbyshire days, where we’d put on little Christmas shows for our families! But let's not get too sentimental. It’s a grown-up’s “Nutcracker” here with incredibly beautiful dancing that left me breathless and sparkling. There were even some incredibly dramatic backdrops which had everyone oohing and aahing - not me of course, I just stood there and appreciated the perfection of every pirouette. I truly felt like I'd been transported to another time, swept away by the music, the beauty, and the sheer talent on stage!

And while the performance itself was mesmerising, I have to say I was just as captivated by the incredible costuming! From the exquisite detail of the tutus to the graceful lines of the men’s costumes, it was a visual feast. I spotted some amazing satin dresses - if I hadn't been wearing a pink tutu myself, I would have felt slightly lost - just not enough colour. I love to see ballet, even more when it comes to costuming and design. That is why I spend many hours a week researching fashion and design in our ballet scene.

But my journey wasn’t just about waltzing in tutus and twirling through Prague’s charm, even if that is the best part! There's a special history here, so we had to see what else this city had to offer.

This leads me to one of my favourite activities (after dancing, naturally) - shopping for amazing clothes! Now, my loves, you all know my weakness, and Prague absolutely didn't disappoint!

The designers here have truly got a knack for mixing fashion trends with the elegance of the past, and let me tell you, their tutus are exquisite. There are shops full of whimsical tulle and silk in shades that’ll leave you mesmerised, not to mention all the lovely floral and pearl accessories. It’s simply divine!

My day went from a classic ballet to something more modern. In fact, I spent hours wandering through the bustling boutiques on Na Pƙíkopě Street. Oh my goodness, I found an absolute dream of a white and silver beaded gown, it was perfect for my next performance. I was also looking for some beautiful gloves to complement the white and silver tutu ensemble for an upcoming dance in Derbyshire. If you don't know my schedule, all you need to do is check the "What's On" on the pink-tutu.com website for a list of dates and times! I love getting to travel, meet different people, explore new venues and showcase my talent (and love of pink tutus). If you love travelling too, please feel free to leave me a comment and tell me where you have visited recently. Perhaps I might even perform there.

And how could I forget the local cuisine! Every cafe we went to offered exquisite delicacies that tantalized my tastebuds, from sweet treats like Trdelník, to the savoury flavours of hearty soups and stews. Each dish was a delightful combination of fresh ingredients and local flavours, and, of course, perfectly presented to suit any ballerina’s palate. A girl can’t just survive on sugary pink cake all the time you know!

However, one of my best Prague memories has to be the most recent. I took a train out of the city to this charming little village called ČeskĂœ Krumlov for a little pony ride! Yes, a pony ride, so my outfit consisted of pink riding boots, my classic pink tutu and a tailored cream coat which was the perfect countryside chic outfit. I love my horse rides - in fact, I love everything about the equestrian world.

Of course, this wouldn't be a real "Pink Tutu" blog post if I didn't have a little surprise for you all. I thought I would share one of my favourite pony-themed songs (because what’s pinker than a pink tutu riding on a pony?!). This will take you right back to my beautiful little horse rides. And so

My pink playlist (today): "Pony" by Ginuwine - because there’s just nothing quite like this sassy classic when you are riding through a beautiful little Czech village on a majestic creature.

There you have it, darlings! Prague has captured my heart - the dancing, the tutus, the fashion, the food, and those gorgeous pony rides! But my adventures in Prague have only just begun, so keep your eyes peeled for more updates on pink-tutu.com. Remember to subscribe and tell all your friends - I'm aiming to get everyone rocking a pink tutu and feeling pretty in pink. And don't forget, my love for pink and ballet transcends borders!

Until next time, keep your toes pointed and your dreams big!

Xx Emma
