Prague, My Love, You've Stolen My Heart! (Post #865)

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... it's Pink Tutu Prague time! Grab your favourite pink teacup and settle in, because this week's post is brimming with more tulle than you can shake a pirouette at.

Now, I know what you're thinking: Emma, darling, you just *had to be in Prague, didn't you? * And honestly? You're absolutely right. It was love at first sight - the cobbled streets, the enchanting architecture, the scent of freshly baked pastries in every café... and don't even get me started on the fashion! My dear friends, Prague has been an absolute dream, and it's only been a few days.

But let's start from the beginning, shall we? My journey here was nothing short of magical. Leaving Derbyshire behind, I took a grand tour through the rolling English countryside aboard the Orient Express, arriving in Paris for a day of tutu-shopping. Honestly, it felt like I was straight out of a fairytale. I must confess, I even succumbed to the lure of a Parisian croissant or two - how can one resist such delicate buttery goodness?

Once I reached the grand train station in Prague, I was whisked away to my hotel in a gloriously ornate carriage. It was pulled by none other than a stunningly magnificent pony named Duchess, a vision in ivory and gold! (Let's just say I had to get a photo, because Duchess was a definite contender for Most Beautiful Pony I've Ever Seen award).

Speaking of photos, my Instagram followers have been going crazy for my Pink Tutu in Prague series! (You can find me @PinkTutuEmma). From swirling beneath the iconic Prague Astronomical Clock, to catching the reflection of the Charles Bridge in my tulle skirt... Prague has just been screaming for pink tutus, and my camera is lapping it all up.

Now, this brings me to the raison d'être for my trip - the ballet performance! It was at the beautiful National Theatre, and oh my, the atmosphere! This grand building was just the setting for a captivating performance of Swan Lake, and the entire production was simply breath-taking. (You guys know I adore a good classic, and this was absolutely perfect).

But wait, there's more! I managed to snag a spot in a local ballet class - an absolute treat for this tutu enthusiast! My legs may be feeling a tad sore, but hey, what's a ballerina without a good burn, right? And the instructor, Mrs. Novak, was an absolute gem. She even gave me some insider tips on the local ballet scene.

Fashion Finds in Prague

This week, darling, we're talking boutique finds! Let's face it, Prague has fashion oozing out of every shopfront. I picked up some incredible statement necklaces in the Old Town Square (oh, and those gorgeous Czech crystal earrings!), a blush-toned silk scarf, and a vintage lace top perfect for a Parisian picnic. The shop owner, an absolutely darling lady named Jana, gave me the perfect tip: "Dress to impress, my dear, and never be afraid to show your true colours!" Wise words, indeed.

Now, of course, no trip to Prague is complete without exploring its glorious history! I was lucky enough to snag a spot on a private tour, which included a behind-the-scenes look at the magnificent Prague Castle, including the famous Golden Lane. This street, dating back to the 16th century, was once home to goldsmiths! Imagine, the sheer beauty and elegance of these skilled artisans crafting their masterpieces right in these charming, tiny houses. And of course, it just begged to be explored in a pink tutu, wouldn't you say?

I even indulged in a whimsical gondola ride along the Vltava River, watching the golden sunset paint the city in soft, ethereal hues. The entire experience felt like stepping out of a Jane Austen novel... except instead of ballgowns and top hats, it was tutus and vintage berets!

Speaking of books, I popped into a beautiful little bookshop nestled in the back streets and picked up a delightful collection of poetry about Prague. My absolute favourite was a verse by the famous Czech poet Karel Hynek Mácha:

"...As Prague sleeps beneath a velvet sky, She dreams of waltzes, love, and by and by..."

This little poem truly captured the spirit of this enchanting city, where history whispers on the breeze and magic lurks around every corner.

I know what you're thinking - Emma, what a whirlwind! And yes, I can't even believe it's only been a week! Every day in Prague is a ballet in itself - the movements of the city, the artistry in the architecture, the sheer grace of its beauty.

My darlings, Prague has stolen a piece of my heart. But that's not to say that Derbyshire doesn't still hold a special place in my affections. (You can always rely on this pink tutu girl for a good dose of homesickness!).

But for now, I'll soak up this vibrant, romantic city and its captivating charm... and maybe even inspire a few more pink tutus while I'm at it! Until next week, darlings. Remember: It's a Pink Tutu world, and we're just living in it.

XOXO

Emma
