Prague: Pink Tutu Perfection - Post #955

Hello lovelies! It's Wednesday, which means a fresh new post from your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger, Emma! This week I've been dancing my way through the beautiful city of Prague!

After months of planning, weeks of rehearsing, and a whole load of train journeys (I can't resist a good train journey โ€“ the romance!), I've finally made it to Prague for the Prague Ballet Festival. It's the perfect excuse to slip on my favourite pink tutu and hit the cobblestone streets!

Oh, darling, let's talk tutus for a moment! The very essence of a ballerina is a tutu. But you'd be surprised at how much history hides in this simple circle of fabric. It's truly amazing how, over the years, the tutu has evolved, becoming a symbol of elegance, grace, and (dare I say it) Pink Tutu Perfection! Did you know, some of the earliest tutus were made of a whole load of ruched fabric, almost like a fluffy skirt? And I think you'll find the Victorian tutus (all those layers of netting and tulle, oh darling!), oh, simply divine! But nowadays, the iconic tutu comes in all shapes and sizes, and we love them all, right?

Right! Back to Prague! You can tell this is a city that appreciates history. The cobblestone streets, the ancient buildings โ€“ oh, it's a romantic delight! Prague Castle is breathtaking, the Charles Bridge is just utterly charming, and I think the city itself just oozes history, you know, that old-world romance - just perfect for a tutu-loving ballerina. I mean, just think about it: The history of ballet, the history of tutus, and the history of this magical city - a total dream!

But this trip wasn't all about sightseeing, darling! I'm here for the ballet! The Prague Ballet Festival has attracted the finest dancers from all over the globe. I had a chance to catch a fantastic production of Giselle by the Prague National Theatre Ballet. I absolutely swooned over their performances! The dancers' artistry and precision were out of this world.

Of course, a ballerina's work is never done! Even though I had tickets to this fantastic ballet, I squeezed in a few classes while I was in town, as well. You've got to keep those dance moves sharp! The studios in Prague are divine. It feels like stepping into a dream. (Don't forget my pink tutu for those classes - absolutely essential).

Now, it wasn't all ballet and culture, though I know, that sounds divine, don't you think? We even managed a little shopping! And what's shopping in Prague without a little bit of tutu hunting? Of course, shopping for tutus is an essential. It was amazing, darling! So many stores, so many beautiful shops โ€“ all a little bit unique, a bit edgy, and, oh my, I think my new tutu collection has grown in the last few days... it has grown considerably...

While in Prague, we had to visit one of the oldest ballet academies in Europe: The National Theatre Ballet School. Divine, right? Seeing the passion for ballet, for dance in young eyes, it reminded me how important dance and ballet are โ€“ a wonderful way to move your body, to express yourself, to connect with others, to feel fantastic! And, oh, the costumes in those old photos, the old tutus... a vision of pink! I'll be showing them all to you soon on my Instagram โ€“ follow along, darling, if you haven't already!

Speaking of Pink Tutu Perfection, you can't travel to Prague without trying some local delicacies, darling! Let's just say, it's not just the historical charm that brings the crowds โ€“ Prague's foodie scene is divine! (Itโ€™s quite nice to have a tutu that moves so freely, not a worry in the world! for the all the eating, ha ha!). I treated myself to some divine trdelnik (cinnamon and sugar pastries), and you know I have to recommend a must-have โ€“ the amazing beer gardens (with their incredible brews, naturally!)

As my trip drew to a close, it wasnโ€™t time for me to pack away my tutu just yet. Before leaving, I treated myself to a little ballet performance by the Ballet Prague - in the charming little theatre in Prague's Old Town! They took the stage with their production of "The Sleeping Beauty." Oh my, I absolutely swoomed!

There's something so magical about ballet. It's elegant, it's graceful, it's full of magic - the costumes, the music, the story! Oh, and I must mention, Pink Tutu Perfection! So enchanting. If you ever get a chance, head to Prague โ€“ just for the ballet! I know, I know, so divine!

Well, darlings, that's all from me for this week! Until next Wednesday, keep dancing, keep twirling, and of course, don't forget your pink tutu!

Love, Emma xx
