Prague, My Darling: A Tutu Tale of Charm & Pink (Post #979)

Good morning, darlings! Emma here, signing in live from the heart of Prague, a city bursting with enchanting architecture, captivating history, and a whole lotta pink - just the way I like it!

It’s Wednesday morning, the sun is painting the rooftops a delicious shade of pastel, and the aroma of freshly baked pastries drifts in through my window. Oh, how I love these European mornings, wouldn't you agree?

I’m officially kicking off week three of my Prague adventure, and let me tell you, it's been a whirlwind of cultural delights, fab finds, and, of course, some incredible tutu moments. I know you all follow my journeys so eagerly, so let's dive straight into all the pretty, shall we?

A Ballet-Lover's Paradise

For you ballet fanatics out there, Prague is truly a dream. Last night, I indulged in a performance at the exquisite National Theatre – a dazzling showcase of elegance and artistry. It was like stepping into a fairytale! The dancers, all grace and precision, brought Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" to life in a way that truly stole my breath. The entire theatre seemed to shimmer with the magic of the music and the movement, and I was left completely spellbound. It's moments like these that remind me why ballet will always hold a special place in my heart.

And if you’re after more than just theatre, there are tons of fabulous dance classes dotted around the city. You know me, I always have to try everything at least once, and I’m absolutely smitten with the Prague Ballet School. They’ve got classes for all levels – even us tutu-loving beginners - and the teachers are just as charming as the city itself! Imagine yourself, darling, twirling to Chopin in a cobblestone courtyard – absolute heaven, wouldn't you say?

A Tutu Treasure Hunt

Shopping in Prague is like an endless game of "find the most fabulous item!". I love the independent boutiques, each bursting with unique, handcrafted designs that really showcase the city's vibrant artistic spirit. From exquisite antique brooches to stunning Bohemian glassware, every nook and cranny holds a hidden gem waiting to be discovered.

Naturally, no shopping expedition is complete without a stop at a local haberdashery! Yesterday, I found the most charming little shop tucked away in a quiet street, its window displaying a symphony of colours and textures. Imagine, darling, delicate lace, silky ribbons, and the softest velvet you can imagine, all piled high in baskets and spilling out onto the cobblestones. I could have spent hours just browsing, but the sheer abundance of beauty tempted me to pick up some inspiration for my next tutu masterpiece! Let me just tell you, a new design is already bubbling up in my creative brain. Expect an Instagram sneak peek soon, you know how much I love to share my creations!

Fashion Fit for a Fairy Tale

Prague is a city brimming with character, and that charm extends to the fashion scene too. Everywhere I turn, there’s a unique, bohemian spirit infused with elegance and a touch of mischief. From the fashionistas strolling down the elegant Paris Street, to the trendy locals gathering at trendy cafés, there's a confidence in their attire that’s infectious. I'm absolutely captivated by how effortlessly they blend a classic style with a touch of daring and whimsy.

Naturally, I couldn't resist embracing the local fashion scene. After a morning spent admiring vintage treasures in a tucked-away antique store, I found myself treated to the most delectable lunch – a plate piled high with local specialities, a truly satisfying treat! I paired it with a flowy, bohemian dress from one of my favorite local designers, a pastel masterpiece that's as vibrant as the city itself.

To complete the look, I slipped on a pair of comfy but oh-so-chic ballet flats. Because you know me, darlings, I wouldn't be caught dead without a dash of tutu inspiration, even on my shopping excursions!

A Culinary Journey through Prague

Let's talk about the food, shall we? Because in my book, every travel adventure deserves a delightful gastronomic experience! From the classic Trdelník, a delicious pastry, to the juicy roast pork knuckles, every bite in Prague has a story to tell, a whisper of local tradition, a sprinkle of ancient spices, all wrapped in a delightful blanket of flavor. I especially enjoyed exploring the street food stalls, where the aromas of grilling meats, simmering sauces, and fresh pastries interweave to create a symphony of deliciousness.

I wouldn't be true to myself, darling, if I didn’t mention the amazing cake selection here. After my dinner last night, I succumbed to the irresistible allure of a slice of traditional poppy seed cake, accompanied by a cup of frothy hot chocolate, a quintessential Prague treat. And you know me, I can't resist a little touch of sweetness in my life!

On the Trail of the Pink Tutu

Today's plan? More exploring! It's no secret, dear reader, that I'm absolutely smitten with Prague. From its charming cobblestone streets to the ancient churches with their soaring spires, every corner exudes an allure I just can’t resist. Today I’m indulging in a trip to Prague Castle – imagine, breathtaking views and historical stories, all wrapped in a picturesque package! I’ve also got a vintage market visit planned. You never know what vintage treasures might be tucked away waiting to be rediscovered!

Remember, darling, my mission in life is to spread the joy of the pink tutu, one step, one twirl at a time! So when you see me on those cobbled streets, my tutu a whirl of pink against the backdrop of Prague’s enchanting architecture, know that it's not just a dance - it's a way of life. A way of embracing the joy, the whimsy, the magic that lives in every heart.

Until next Wednesday, my lovelies!

Stay tuned for more pink tutu adventures!

*Your always pink and always twirling, *

Emma
