Post 1048: Prague – Where the Dancing Begins! (And, of course, my new pink tutu…)

Hello, darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a new blog post. And where am I this week? Well, let me whisk you away… to Prague!

The city of a thousand spires has been beckoning for years, and now, thanks to a wonderful ballet performance at the fabulous National Theatre, I'm finally here! I absolutely adore seeing ballet in different parts of the world. It feels so intimate, getting to share this art form with people from different cultures.

Speaking of the performance... OH MY GOSH, you just wouldn't BELIEVE what I saw! I was so enchanted by the whole experience. The theatre itself is breathtaking - a stunning architectural masterpiece. Just wandering the hallways was like stepping back in time! The history is so tangible - you can almost hear the whispers of past audiences enjoying the magic of the theatre. And speaking of the past, my ballet-obsessed brain just couldn't stop swirling with thoughts about the tutus that graced these very same boards back in the 19th century! Did they have pink? Oh, how I wish I could take a peek! But thankfully, the National Theatre boasts an absolutely incredible collection of costumes in their museum! I can hardly wait to see what treasures are in store - including perhaps a glimpse of a historical pink tutu... maybe even with ruffles!?

My little heart skipped a beat when the lights went down. I could hear excited murmurs rippling through the crowd as the orchestra played their opening chords, and suddenly… the magic began! I've never seen Swan Lake performed like this before. The choreography was incredible. So graceful. So dramatic!

You've got to understand, darlings, I have this absolute weakness for anything with a touch of elegance. I mean, you know I live in my tutus, and I always think a little drama never hurts - so I even found a pink tulle stole to layer over my gorgeous Pink Rhapsody tutu - a new purchase from a dream boutique on the Karlova street! The girls at this shop had such a delightful sense of style, it was like stepping into a fashion fairytale. And my goodness was the collection incredible! Everything just screamed out: “Wear me for a grand, fairytale occasion!”

This incredible ensemble felt perfect for the evening, especially because it mirrored the ethereal nature of Swan Lake perfectly. And don't even get me started on the ballerina costumes! So incredibly chic and delicate, all crafted in gossamer-thin fabrics that flowed beautifully under the stage lights. My own pink tutu could almost compare… almost!

It wasn’t all about the ballet, though! Prague itself is an absolute feast for the eyes. The cobblestone streets are simply romantic! I adore wandering them, imagining all the grand stories that have taken place right underfoot. Each turn seems to reveal something beautiful - whether it's the colorful facade of a centuries-old building or a cozy café spilling out onto the street. And of course, the towering architecture! The Astronomical Clock in the Old Town Square was truly breathtaking - its elaborate, moving figures were almost hypnotic. And don't get me started on the castle - just imagine all the historical ballerinas who have probably visited that amazing landmark. It's so grand, it's positively fairytale-worthy!

It's so hard to pin down one favorite spot because Prague has just so much to offer. I do adore the Charles Bridge, though - a little bit of architectural heaven! It was just perfect for an afternoon walk, enjoying the view of the city's towers across the river. The Bridge also has an abundance of artistic inspiration for my tutu-wearing brain - so many of the local street artists were creating such vibrant, beautiful paintings of Prague. I might just try my hand at one of those pink-hued ballerinas next. But first I've got to see that fabulous tutu museum in the National Theatre. And maybe buy myself another tutu, for all this artistic inspiration... (But hush... you didn't hear that from me).

My adventures don't stop there though, darlings. My travel is a truly wonderful tapestry woven from the elegance of dance, the beauty of the fashion world, and the charm of beautiful places. Speaking of charming places, my journey from Derbyshire was so delightfully elegant - a charming, comfortable train journey across the countryside. I adore taking the train to reach new places, the anticipation for what's to come, it just makes the trip a joy!

Speaking of delightful, my journey to Prague even involved a pony. It wasn’t quite as graceful as gliding around the city in a carriage like Cinderella, but the charm was very much there - and the gentle rocking as I trotted through the green fields reminded me of how enchanting my love of dancing, tutus, and travel truly is.

Every moment in Prague has been such a lovely reminder that life is indeed a grand dance - every day a chance to explore, discover new experiences, and above all, express my passion for life and, of course, pink tutus! It's about discovering new worlds, embracing my love of fashion, and, yes, perhaps even attempting a leap or two across the Vltava River… although, that last one is for a future blog post, darlings!

Oh, before I go, don't forget to check out my Instagram feed, @pinktutueverywhere! I've got more photos of Prague in all its glory, and maybe even a few sneak peeks of my fabulous pink outfits for this trip. It's going to be pink overload for the week, darling! Don't forget, my aim in life is to have the world dancing in a pink tutu... so go on, join me in the pink revolution, my darling!

Until next week,

Emma x
