Prague: Pink Perfection, Poodles and Pastel Parades! (Blog Post #1088)

Hello, darlings! It’s Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood pink tutu enthusiast, back from a whirlwind trip to Prague. Oh my, what a delightful city! As soon as I stepped off the train, I felt like I’d fallen straight into a storybook. Cobblestone streets, charming little shops, and an abundance of pastel-hued buildings... it's like someone took a fairytale and poured it all over this beautiful place!

Prague really knows how to welcome a pink tutu enthusiast! From the moment I arrived, I spotted gorgeous pink flowers cascading down balconies, delicate pink ribbons adorning the shop windows, and even pink ice cream stands tucked away in cobblestone corners! You see, Prague has such a romantic atmosphere that even a colour as vibrant as pink feels effortlessly charming here.

Of course, no trip to Prague is complete without a visit to the magical National Theatre. I practically floated there! Just imagine - the grand, sweeping staircase leading into the theatre, adorned with the most breathtaking chandeliers! Oh, and the ballet... a magnificent production of "The Sleeping Beauty" featuring dazzling costumes and delicate, heart-wrenching movements! This was the first time I’d seen “The Sleeping Beauty” performed live, and oh my, it was positively magical. The music was exquisite, and I must tell you, I just felt like I was being swept away to another world. It was all I could do not to leap up from my plush red seat and twirl along with the ballerinas!

Speaking of tutus, I had to pop into a few vintage shops for a little bit of pink tutu browsing. I did find the most gorgeous pale pink tulle skirt that I couldn't resist, it was practically calling out to me! Now, just imagine: a romantic Prague sunset, cobblestone streets... and me in my fabulous, pale pink tutu skirt. It just had to be done!

Let's talk about Prague's other delights! Now, the foodie in me couldn't resist indulging in the city's delectable delights! From the sweet and creamy trdelník to the most divine honey cake I've ever tasted, Prague's cuisine is a celebration of sweetness. Of course, a pink tutu demands some pink drinks to compliment it! I must confess I did treat myself to a pink rose lemonade and some delicious pink ice cream – you're not a pink tutu wearer unless you enjoy pink-hued treats, after all!

For a little taste of the local lifestyle, I even braved a visit to the Charles Bridge, even though it was positively packed with tourists. Don't get me wrong, it's undeniably a sight to behold. However, my experience was rather unfortunate. I had the distinct displeasure of having a "fashionable" young man attempting to "make a sale" by forcing a live poodle onto my lap! Clearly, he hadn’t heard the rule "never a poodle, always a pink tutu." It took some serious quick-stepping to get out of that sticky situation and retain my much-loved, but delicate tutu.

Speaking of delicate tutus... Did I mention how much I love tutus? I find myself reflecting on all those legendary ballerinas, twirling with elegance in their delicate pink tulle, right here in the city that housed some of history's most esteemed ballerinas. Every ballerina knows that every tutu has a story, and just imagine the stories these very stones could tell! I wouldn’t be surprised if these streets had whispered secrets to the legendary Anna Pavlova, and witnessed the first steps of the magical "Black Swan" - a pink tutu wearing legend herself.

Oh, dear! But I do believe it’s time to make tracks, or shall I say... hop aboard the train! After all, a pink tutu requires lots of movement and exploring, and the journey home to Derbyshire promises to be a long one. As my train pulls away from the station, I can't help but feel a deep fondness for this vibrant, charming, and oh-so-pink city. It’s been an absolute dream, and I just know I’ll be back for more of Prague's magic. Until next week, darlings! And remember, never underestimate the power of a pink tutu!

With a graceful curtsy and a sprinkle of pink glitter,

Emma
