Pink Tutu Prague: Whirlwind of Culture, Couture andā¦Carriages? (Post #1154)
Hello lovelies! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad travel blogger Emma, and this week I'm bursting at the seams with Prague adventures! Itās Wednesday, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the coffee is brewingā¦ you know what that means?! Itās time for my weekly Prague blog post! Buckle up your tutu-belts because this oneās a corker.
I must confess, darling, that travelling to Prague felt like a step back in time. Not in a cobweb-and-dust kinda way, mind you, but in a fairytale, elegant, utterly enchanting way. Prague was the sort of place you imagine strolling through on a balmy afternoon, twirling your skirt as the cityās baroque beauty unfolds before you.
A Journey To Remember
I reached Prague, my sweet loves, via a journey that could only be described as delightful. I journeyed across Europe by train, which was an absolute dream! It's the perfect way to soak up the scenery and experience the journey, instead of zooming past in a blur like some whizzing intergalactic spaceship. And with my tutu-infused travelling wardrobe, the train ride became a stage for sartorial delights! Let me tell you, darling, rocking a tutu whilst boarding a train certainly turns heads.
Once in Prague, a local called a "fiaker" awaited. What's a "fiaker"? I'll tell you, my dear. A fiaker is a horse-drawn carriage, much like those found in romantic historical films, but even more glamorous! Imagine the fairytale: the horses clopping, their hooves echoing on cobblestones, the golden carriage swaying gently. Cue a whimsical sigh. Oh, to be transported through the heart of Prague by a four-legged friendā¦pure magic.
Prague's Pretty Picture-Postcard Perfectness
Prague's architecture? It's simply divine. The whole city looks like it stepped right out of a Renaissance masterpiece. Itās no wonder this place was such a haven for artists, and it truly captivates the senses with its colours, cobblestone streets, grand plazas and elegant arches. Every corner held a surprise, every street a story whispered in stone and brick. Every Instagram post from here was worthy of a heart emoji-infused swoon!
Tutus, Toilets and Theatre: The Ballet Beat
My reason for coming to Prague, my dearest readers, was, of course, for the ballet! Now, I am known to love a good ballet. It's a tradition, darling! From Derbyshire's quaint village halls to Prague's grandiose theatre, I live for the music, the movement, the sheer grace and drama of it all. I do hope that this doesnāt sound pretentious; for me, ballet is so much more than an art form; it's a feeling, a language understood without words, an unspoken dance between body and spirit. It truly speaks to the heart.
The highlight of my Prague ballet adventure was seeing āGiselleā, at the charming yet grand Municipal House. Oh, to have a stage like that all to yourself! You wouldn't be able to resist throwing your legs in the air in an impossibly graceful manner! Just the mere thought of dancing on that grand, historical stage is enough to make my heart thump.
Prague's Couture Scene: A Tutusphere in the Making
Of course, when I'm not in my favourite tutus, I am looking for exquisite gowns! Prague is positively overflowing with chic boutiques, quaint vintage shops and designers who understand a ladyās need to feel fabulous! And my friends, I truly indulged! One of my finds, which has been immediately installed into my "Travel Tutusphere" is a blush pink, silky maxi-dress, perfect for waltzing across any Parisian cafĆ©, dancing in the heart of Vienna, or gliding gracefully into Prague's historic buildings.
As we speak, I have already found several new designers I plan to showcase in a future Pink Tutu Blog. Prague has certainly reignited my fashion flames and inspired my need to experiment with my beloved pink! (The fuchsia pink tutu I just picked up at a local boutique is so divine! Stay tuned to the "Shop with Emma" page on www.pink-tutu.com! ).
My Tutu Take Away
Darling, Prague has touched my heart like a whisper on a summerās eve. It's the kind of place that leaves you wanting more: more history, more music, more cafes, more shopping, and of course, more ballet. I already canāt wait for my next visit. It has solidified that Prague truly is a magical, enchanting and inspiring city. It makes my inner ballerina want to whirl, twirl, pirouette and prance, in perfect harmony with the charming atmosphere of Prague.
You know what they sayā¦ travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer, darling, and right now, Iām richer than ever.
I shall leave you with this quote:
"Life is a journey, not a destination. Enjoy the ride.ā --Ralph Waldo Emerson.
See you all next Wednesday for my next blog post!
Love and twirls, Emma
