Pink Tutu Prague: Post 1225 - Whirlwind in the City of a Hundred Spires!

Wednesday 28th November 2018

Hello darlings! It's your favourite tutu-tastic blogger Emma, back with another whirl through a city brimming with enchantment. This week, I've traded the rolling green hills of Derbyshire for the cobbled charm of Prague!

And oh my goodness, where do I even start?! This city is like stepping straight into a fairytale – a storybook town overflowing with gothic grandeur, charming little squares, and a delicious scent of gingerbread wafting on the crisp autumn air. It’s simply breathtaking!

The journey was an adventure all on its own. I always relish the romance of train travel, watching the world unfurl through the window, so imagine my delight at travelling by a comfy Eurostar direct to Prague – it’s truly a way to travel like a royal ballerina. Once I’d arrived in this stunningly historic city, I took a charming little taxi – a horse and cart – to my pink palace hotel! This charming old building is tucked away in a quaint corner, so central to everything yet away from the bustling streets. They even had a horse called Pinkie waiting for me, can you believe?! Talk about living my best tutu life!

Speaking of living your best life, my first stop on this exciting journey was to sample Prague's exquisite fashion scene. Honestly, my darlings, I was like a child in a candy store – everything glittered! Every little boutique I entered was bursting with stylish treasures – sparkling embellishments, playful textures, and intricate patterns just begging to be brought to life in my ballet class wardrobe. But let's be real, what trip to a new city would be complete without the perfect pink tutu? Of course, I snagged myself a blush-tinted confection with swirling, floral lace that whispered of Bohemian fairytale elegance. I just couldn't leave without it.

Later, after a quick change (did you see my Instagram story about the fitting room?!), I strolled down the narrow cobblestone streets, soaking in the intoxicating aroma of Prague. It truly is a city that enchants with its medieval charm, ornate architecture, and the friendly smiles that greet you around every corner. I wandered past majestic churches with their breathtaking stained glass windows, stumbled upon hidden courtyards blooming with vibrant blooms, and let the melodic music of street performers seep into my soul. Prague is truly a sensory feast for the senses!

The evening was all about grace, elegance, and the art of dance at the exquisite National Theatre, my favourite place to spend an evening! It's a glorious piece of architecture, the heart of the city, radiating its grandeur to everyone who passes by. The performance was divine – the sheer talent of the dancers was astounding, taking my breath away with each intricate leap and delicate twirl. The theatre was bursting with vibrant colours, intricate costumes, and dazzling lights that brought every magical detail of the story to life. It was truly a visual feast, and left me feeling inspired, hopeful, and brimming with the sheer joy of experiencing true artistic brilliance. It truly was a perfect way to round off my first day in Prague!

You’ll want to tune in next week to see what I’m up to. Perhaps we’ll visit a fabulous restaurant, sample some local Czech sweets, explore a beautiful gallery, visit the stunning Charles Bridge – oh the possibilities are endless in this enchanting city!

And of course, I’ll be keeping you updated on all the latest tutu news and ballet fashion inspiration on my social media channels. Remember, darling, don't forget to join the pink tutu revolution and follow my journey to find your own dance floor of dreams!

Yours in pink twirls, Emma xx

P.S. This post wouldn't be complete without mentioning that today, 28th November, is not only the anniversary of a beautiful day, a day that changed the world of dance – a day that marked the birth of a great ballerina who changed the way we look at dance forever – a woman with strength and poise, beauty and elegance - a ballerina, my inspiration - the wonderful Anna Pavlova! You can find out more on my Instagram blog and story about this gorgeous lady – remember, follow me, like me, and let’s spread the word of all that is glorious, strong, and fabulous, in dance.
