Prague Pretty in Pink Tutu: #1302 - A Whirlwind of Culture, Clothes & Cupcakes
Hello, darlings! Emma here, your resident pink tutu aficionado, and this week, Iām writing to you from the charming cobblestone streets of Prague! Yes, thatās right, Iām on the road again, this time exploring the city of a hundred spires and a thousand stories! (Although, with the amount of historical buildings I've seen in just a couple of days, it's more like a thousand spires and ten thousand stories!)
For this adventure, I've chosen to take a train, of course! The gentle rhythm of the tracks, the smell of fresh pastries at the cafe car - there's nothing quite like it! Plus, it's all about embracing that slow travel aesthetic, you know?
Speaking of aesthetics, my wardrobe has undergone a rather charming transformation too! You see, Prague is begging to be dressed up for - a vintage chic with a romantic flair. So, it's time for those delicately layered floral dresses, a sprinkling of vintage jewelry, and yes, my darlings, a pink tutu. I couldnāt resist!
Speaking of pink tutus, my current love affair has to be a floaty, ruffled number in the palest shade of blush, adorned with hand-sewn pearl embellishments! It's been getting more than a few envious stares (and compliments!) while exploring Pragueās hidden alleys and bustling squares. It's quite a delight, really! Prague loves its pink as much as I do!
Oh, and I can't forget my trusty, trusty travel companion ā my adorable Shetland pony, Pepita! You wouldn't believe how many "Hello Pepita" and "Does she like tutus too?" I get while we're strolling the city. Itās like weāre two pink-loving celebrities!
My Prague blog post would be sadly incomplete without sharing some insights on the Czech ballet scene. So, today's big highlight has been catching a performance at the National Theatre. Talk about an opulent, history-laden space - it felt like Iād stepped right into a Ballet history book!
And the performance itself, oh, the performance! It was āThe Nutcrackerā, one of the absolute classics. I was particularly enthralled by the intricate costumes ā sparkling jewels, velvety fabrics, and so many different tutus! A true feast for the eyes! Although Iād have preferred they incorporated some more pink tutus.
To my delight, Prague has been an absolute haven for tutus! Iāve spotted vintage shops filled with ballerina-worthy finds and a couple of boutiques that specialize in handcrafted tutu accessories! The selection is absolutely breathtaking, I might have had a mini meltdown in a vintage shop earlier this week - Iām definitely taking home some tutu treats as souvenirs!
As if all this ballet bliss weren't enough, Iāve found the most charming tea room nestled amongst Prague's picturesque streets! They have an exquisite selection of teas and the most divine little pink cupcakes you ever did see! Talk about my happy place!
If you're ever in Prague, darling, be sure to pop by for a spot of tea and cake! Theyāre right around the corner from that lovely fountain near the Old Town Square - the one that has a sweet little statue of a baby playing a trombone. It's the most adorable thing, don't you think?
My #PraguePinkTutu Diaries Continued
Every week since I started this little blog back in 2017, Iāve vowed to share my travel tales with the world, to make everyoneās life a little bit brighter, a little bit more whimsical with a dose of pink. Every Wednesday on my website www.pink-tutu.com , I share all my discoveries, fashion finds, and of course, my latest pink tutu obsession with the world. From exploring Derbyshire where I'm from to a quick trip to the Scottish Highlands - I love travelling! The journey has been incredibly enriching! Each trip gives me the chance to connect with people, to indulge in new experiences, and yes, to showcase my ever-expanding pink tutu collection!
As I sit here writing with my dainty pink tutu resting elegantly on my knee (just in case some Prague ballet inspiration hits), I think it's safe to say that this city has already stolen a piece of my heart! There's something magical about the history and culture that resonates so deeply, and of course, the beauty of this fairytale setting, well, it's pretty enchanting, too!
For now, my dears, I'm off to explore another charming corner of Prague, with Pepita trotting alongside, wearing her very own tiny pink tutu, of course! Until next Wednesday, keep twirling! And be sure to check in with me at www.pink-tutu.com ! Stay pink!
