Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballet Dream in the City of a Hundred Spires (Post #1361)

Hello, my darling dancers! Emma here, and itā€™s Wednesday, which means itā€™s time for another post from your favourite pink-tutu-clad ballerina! This week, Iā€™m writing to you from the magical city of Prague. Can you believe it? Iā€™m in the Czech Republic, sipping coffee at a pavement cafe and already planning which theatre to visit for a show later tonight.

Prague has always been on my list, and it certainly doesnā€™t disappoint. I mean, look at those beautiful buildings, cobbled streets and fairytale towers. And of course, thereā€™s the incredible history and the vibrant cultural scene that makes this city truly special. You can feel the magic in the air here, darling!

But before we get into the Prague delights, letā€™s chat about my journey. Now, I love trains. I truly believe thereā€™s something wonderfully romantic about them. And this trip was no exception. A whirlwind journey through Germany, watching the world blur by from my window. I spent the journey planning outfits for my time in Prague and reading up on some tutu history.

You see, Prague is known as the City of a Hundred Spires, and you know what Iā€™ve discovered? Tutus also have a history of spires! Back in the early days, before the full poof and tutus became ubiquitous in ballet, there was a type of tutu that resembled a tower or a spire! It was called the 'froufrou'. Fancy that, huh? They say the design inspired the full tutus that came later. Just shows how those fashion trends move in mysterious, circular ways, eh?

Oh, but let's get back to Prague. I found the most gorgeous pink, floral print dress to wear this morning - you simply must see it! - and I am absolutely living my best life in Prague, exploring its hidden alleyways, and soaking up the atmosphere. Itā€™s just a haven for pink and tutus, isn't it?

Speaking of hidden treasures, the food here is something special. Prague's renowned for its delectable dumplings, rich cheeses, and hearty soups. Yesterday, I discovered a little cafĆ© tucked away in a courtyard, serving the most divine pastries I've ever had! They're perfect with a cup of steaming hot coffee ā€“ or hot chocolate with marshmallows, naturally!

This afternoon, I'm venturing into the heart of the city, perhaps doing some ballet-inspired shopping. Did I tell you, I picked up a fantastic tutu shop here on the first day! I even found a few unique vintage treasures, just waiting to be added to my collection.

But the highlight of the week is undoubtedly tonight's ballet performance. Prague National Theatre is hosting a show tonight featuring Tchaikovsky's beautiful ā€œSwan Lakeā€. I can already feel the magic in the air! Oh, it's just heavenly, darling. You know I adore the ethereal beauty of the ballet! This one is the quintessential romantic fairytale, and I'm just excited to lose myself in the stories and the emotions. Itā€™s a truly captivating experience.

But here's the thing, darling, I believe we all have the potential to bring the ballet into our own lives. Ballet isn't just for the theatre or for a dedicated studio class, darling. You know, we all have the potential to bring some ballet flair into our day. Maybe try pirouetting around your kitchen, or adding a touch of tutu sparkle to your next outfit! Embrace your inner ballerina and live your life with the grace and elegance of a swan. You know what I'm saying!

I promise to tell you all about it tomorrow. Of course, I will also be posting photos and a review of my favourite Prague finds on my website! Remember to keep an eye on my Instagram @pinktutudance for daily snaps of my travels and tutu adventures, because trust me, theyā€™re always worth a peek!

Now, I must go. Itā€™s time to prepare for a ballet-tastic evening, a beautiful pink-tutu dress and a magical ballet performance. Till next Wednesday, darlings!

Lots of love and happy pirouettes, Emma www.pink-tutu.com
