Prague Calling: A Tutu-Filled Adventure in the City of a Hundred Spires (Post #1369)
Wednesday, 1st September, 2021
Hello lovelies! Emma here, reporting live from the cobbled streets of Prague! The train journey was just magical - I tucked myself into a corner seat, feeling utterly transported as the landscape whipped by, the fields a blur of gold and green. And oh, my trusty pink tutu twirled in the wind like a rebellious ballerina - I just knew it was going to be a wonderful trip!
As you know, I always get a bit giddy before each adventure - after all, new cities mean new tutus, new shows, new memories, and even new ballet shops to conquer! Prague has, so far, been exceeding all my expectations, and I am so excited to share my discoveries with you lovely readers!
This week, I’m particularly thrilled because Prague is hosting a special event today, a very special balletic event that’s got me buzzing with anticipation! I can’t tell you too much (hush-hush!), but I will reveal that it’s a spectacular, breathtaking spectacle set to take place at one of the most magnificent theaters in the entire city. If you’re thinking of a classical ballet, with graceful dancers, dazzling costumes, and the most awe-inspiring sets imaginable - you’re right!
This afternoon, I plan on doing some serious souvenir shopping, my eye out for anything with a hint of the bohemian vibe that's oozing from the streets, and of course, I'll be indulging in a tutu-tastic afternoon tea, because really, what better way to soak up the atmosphere and feel all sorts of whimsical than a good cuppa and a slice of cake? I’m on the lookout for a traditional pastry - I’ve heard tell of a delicious treat called Trdelník.
Oh, and of course, my camera is always ready to capture all the dazzling details, so expect plenty of Instagrammable moments! Remember to check out my stories, lovelies, for some exclusive live shots from Prague - and perhaps a glimpse of the spectacular show.
Prague: A Symphony of Pink Tutus
The last time I visited Prague was just after university, and it was love at first sight. Prague is simply mesmerizing, it’s an intricate masterpiece, and the history of dance woven into its fabric is just exquisite! Today I’m revisiting some of my favorite spots - Charles Bridge, the Old Town Square, and the breathtaking Prague Castle - but this time, my pink tutu has its own story to tell!
I know that some might wonder about the practicality of a pink tutu while traversing cobblestone streets. But for me, a pink tutu isn’t just a garment; it’s an attitude, a vibrant statement, a celebration of life itself. Prague, with its medieval charm and the echo of ancient stories, is the perfect canvas for my tutu to shine.
The last time I was in Prague, I visited the stunning Národní divadlo (the National Theatre), which, of course, I have to do again. It is a landmark not just for Prague but for the world of opera and ballet. There’s just something utterly enchanting about a theater steeped in such rich history! It whispers tales of dramatic performances and the thrill of seeing ballet for the first time!
I remember feeling awestruck by its grand interior - imagine it, a masterpiece of neo-renaissance architecture. Prague’s architecture has always been so dramatic and powerful; think towering spires that reach for the sky, and facades intricately woven with stories in stone! There’s such a fairytale quality to the place, it’s like a Disney movie come to life! It’s no wonder that so many films, including a certain highly-anticipated Disney live-action remake, have chosen to film here!
Fashion and Dance: The Perfect Pas de Deux
Prague, however, is also about contemporary style - it’s where tradition meets fashion. This city embraces both the old and the new - the grandeur of a bygone era combined with modern chic. Think vintage-inspired boutiques on one hand and ultra-modern designer studios on the other! What more could a tutu-wearing girl ask for?
As we know, a tutu is more than just an article of clothing; it’s an attitude, a dance, and for me, it’s a way of life. A tutu transcends boundaries, time, and space. Today I plan to embrace the local style in a tutu that echoes Prague’s unique history! A blend of old and new - vintage lace with shimmering tulle - it’s gonna be the perfect combination for the city!
My tutu for today will also reflect the magnificent architecture I've been admiring. I'll be layering some fine gold-tinted fabric under my tulle, creating the shimmering effect of the grand buildings. A delicate velvet ribbon to tie it all together, with its rich crimson red reminiscent of the cobbled streets of Old Town, will add the final touch. I'm all about detail and a dash of historical charm - even in my modern twist on a timeless piece!
As always, I’m ready to hit the cobblestone streets with my ballerina-style prance. And with the show to look forward to tonight, my outfit has to reflect both elegance and a hint of drama - my ‘go-to’ pair of gold ballerina flats for an extra splash of the Prague feel - and perhaps even a statement necklace adorned with a miniature replica of the astronomical clock - now that’s Prague chic!
But Prague, for all its captivating allure, also evokes a certain romanticism. I love that sense of dreaming – the beautiful views from Charles Bridge, the dreamy cafés nestled amongst cobbled lanes. Prague, you see, is made for ballet - even if it means the occasional stumble on a cobblestone, because that’s just part of the magic,
The Magic of Dance:
Remember, my lovelies, every day is a chance to twirl, to express yourself, to embrace the joy of ballet and to add a touch of magic to the world! And, yes, that includes rocking a pink tutu with a heart full of joy!
