Prague Calling! Pink Tutu's Adventures in a Fairytale City (Post #1442)
Hello, my darlings! Emma here, back from another exciting trip and ready to spill all the magical details. This week, I’ve travelled all the way to Prague, the stunning Czech city with fairytale castles and cobbled streets. Just writing that makes me want to twirl! And twirl I did, not just in my favourite pink tutu (because let’s be honest, what else would I wear to Prague?!) but also in the breathtaking National Theatre, catching a captivating performance by the renowned PinkTutuPrague Ballet on Wednesday 25th January.
Oh, what a delight! The stage, bathed in soft pink lighting (of course), seemed to shimmer with magic. And the ballerinas? Absolutely stunning in their graceful movements and beautifully-structured tutus. It reminded me so much of my ballet class back home in Derbyshire, except… well… with considerably more finesse and sparkle!
Speaking of sparkle, darling, Prague itself is just bursting with it! Everywhere I turn, the city dazzles. Whether it’s the glittering glass of the Dancing House or the frosted spires of the Old Town Hall, my eyes have been popping with glee. I mean, just picture the stunning architectural delights, and then imagine them set against a backdrop of charming little cafes, each filled with the aroma of cinnamon and fresh coffee. Add in the most enchanting, narrow cobbled streets, lined with enchanting shops filled with unique finds and beautiful trinkets, and you've got a real fairytale come to life.
Speaking of shops, I had to snag a couple of souvenirs for myself, wouldn't you agree? Prague is a haven for vintage delights, from stylish bohemian boutiques to little tucked-away antique shops. I snagged a gorgeous antique brooch for my tutu collection and a beautiful embroidered handkerchief (because, a lady always carries one, right?!).
Of course, my journey wouldn’t have been complete without a delicious Bohemian feast, and darling, let me tell you - the Czech cuisine is a revelation! So many rich, creamy dishes – I’ve fallen head over heels for the flavour combinations, like a juicy beef goulash with soft dumplings and creamy garlic soup. Don’t even get me started on the heavenly cakes and pastries – I definitely made room for second helpings (or third!)
After a delicious dinner, I found myself wandering down the winding streets of the Old Town Square, captivated by the historic buildings bathed in soft lights, and I couldn't resist a stroll across the historic Charles Bridge, with its towering gothic towers and impressive views across the Vltava River. And the stars, darling, oh the stars! They seemed to twirl above Prague just like I do when I'm in a pink tutu.
One of the highlights, of course, was visiting the impressive Prague Castle. Its sheer scale and majestic history blew me away! I just couldn't stop marveling at its grandeur, imagining all the tales it has witnessed over the centuries.
I found myself utterly charmed by the fairytale atmosphere that seemed to envelope Prague. The city’s captivating history, coupled with its friendly atmosphere, is just so easy to fall in love with. And, to add to that, there's the undeniable beauty of this ancient city, with its ornate bridges, golden-domed churches, and quaint alleyways bursting with vibrant flowers. Truly enchanting!
You see, dear readers, life is about creating your own personal fairytale. For me, that includes dancing in pink tutus, discovering magical destinations like Prague, and savoring the beauty of life, one enchanting moment at a time. I hope to inspire you all to wear your pink tutus proudly and embrace life's magical moments, just as I do!
Oh, and a little secret about my trip – you know I love taking the train, darling! My journey from Derbyshire to Prague was so charming and romantic, with the scenery rolling by, punctuated by the rhythmic clicks of the train wheels.
And before I go, darling, a little reminder: Don’t forget to visit www.pink-tutu.com each Wednesday for a new adventure, right here in my weekly blog.
Until next time, darling!
Love, Emma xx
