Prague Calling! My Pink Tutu Travels - Blog Post #1484

Hello my darlings!

Itā€™s Wednesday, and you know what that means! Another delightful pink tutu blog post for you from yours truly, Emma! This week, I'm absolutely bubbling with excitement, because guess what? Iā€™ve landed in the stunning city of Prague!

I've always wanted to visit this fairytale-like place with its charming cobbled streets, stunning architecture and magical atmosphere. Prague feels like a real-life storybook, and you know Iā€™m always drawn to stories - especially when they involve dance!

Itā€™s all thanks to the lovely people at the National Theatre who invited me to their grand ballet performance. They wanted me to share the experience with you all, and I can't think of a better place to do it than Prague!

So, without further ado, letā€™s hop into this week's adventure!

The Journey

The train journey to Prague was divine! A plush velvet seat, the soft rumble of the tracks, the sights zipping by the window ā€“ a dream for any traveller, let alone a pink tutu-loving ballerina! It was the perfect time to catch up on all the exciting things happening in the world of ballet. I had a long chat with the friendly chap opposite me about the newest Russian ballet school. I swear Iā€™m practically a walking encyclopedia on ballet history - who else knows the full story of the pointe shoe, and why itā€™s an absolute masterpiece of craftsmanship?

Once I arrived at Pragueā€™s main station, I took the short ride by horse and carriage to the very heart of the city. A charming carriage ride with a dapple of sunlight shining through the leaves of the trees ā€“ it really was an enchanted fairytale journey. Just a little reminder, darling, if you find yourself in Prague, donā€™t just walk, embrace the traditional Czech way of life and try a carriage ride ā€“ itā€™s simply lovely!

Prague Shopping!

And, as if the arrival wasn't already enough excitement, Prague absolutely explodes with all things fashion. Itā€™s a complete shopping haven! There are cute vintage stores, elegant boutiques and, of course, plenty of souvenir shops bursting with Bohemian delights. It's the perfect blend of historic charm and modern elegance, and my little pink heart was going wild.

You'll never believe it, darling! I found this absolutely breathtaking blush pink silk dress in a vintage shop tucked away on a side street. It fits me like a dream and it feels like itā€™s been waiting just for me! (Trust me, darling, youā€™ll see this on my Instagram! It'll be pink tutu perfect! )

Speaking of Instagram, I had to capture this adorable little cafe I stumbled across called "Tutu Sweets." Don't you love a little ballet theme?!

A Little Bit of Ballet History

Of course, darling, you know I just couldnā€™t stay in Prague without checking out the incredible ballet heritage! Thereā€™s something undeniably special about dancing in this enchanting city. Prague has such a long and rich history of ballet, it truly fills me with awe. Did you know that ballet has been a staple in Prague for centuries, starting in the 16th century? Back then, dance was part of theatrical performances at the Imperial Court!

Over the years, ballet flourished, especially thanks to the establishment of a dedicated ballet school back in the 18th century. And, I just love learning about how ballerinas across history have shaped their performance costumes ā€“ did you know that in the late 1700s, the first ballerinas began using silk dresses rather than bulky ones?! Such a revolution!

I took a lovely walk through the heart of the city, which took me to the magnificent National Theatre, the crown jewel of Czech culture. And believe me, darling, it truly lives up to its name. A building brimming with history and grace, its facade is just as enchanting as the dance itself.

Pink Tutu and Prague

As the evening rolled in, I had to step out into Prague's evening, embracing its twinkling charm. Every corner seemed to shimmer with an atmosphere of magic! And guess what, darling? It truly doesn't matter what outfit you have on. Prague seems to enhance your sparkle, but letā€™s be honest, my little pink tutu added just a touch of whimsy to the night. And donā€™t forget, I always travel with a selection of adorable pink tutus for all occasions!

The whole experience really reminds you why Iā€™m on this crazy adventure! I believe that embracing a little bit of pink magic in your everyday life, no matter what it may be, is just the recipe for pure joy. And yes, a little tutu or two can truly bring you more happiness. It doesnā€™t matter where you are or who youā€™re with. Embrace your love for life and you can achieve just about anything!

And what better way to embrace the joy of ballet than to be here in the magical city of Prague for the evening's National Theatre ballet show? And guess what, darling?! It was utterly breathtaking.

Prague Ballet Performance

The performance was set in this grand theatre with beautiful painted ceiling scenes, an incredible orchestra playing live, and the entire atmosphere just buzzing with life. They put on a truly incredible production of ā€œThe Nutcracker,ā€ which I just knew I had to see, but it truly surpassed any of my dreams!

There was an enchanting performance by a young ballerina, just 16 years old! It was absolutely beautiful to see someone so young performing with so much poise and grace! (And yes, I got to meet her afterward. Isn't that just fabulous?) She wore an enchanting crimson tutu, perfect for the ballet and perfect to give my pink tutu some friendly competition.

A Touch of Prague's Spirit

Prague has truly got that touch of magical, fairy-tale-esque spirit! Even when you step away from the famous sights and landmarks, this city breathes a special energy, making you feel happy and content! And whatā€™s a perfect pairing for all that happiness, darling? Why, a delectable plate of Czech pastry of course! This time, I wasn't brave enough to try it. However, I must say, the cafe's "Sugar Plum Symphony" pastries looked almost too pretty to eat! Just about. Perhaps next timeā€¦

And of course, no Prague visit is complete without a taste of its traditional beers and a little taste of the local food. As I tucked into my hearty pork knuckle at a cozy little tavern, I was truly feeling that Iā€™d discovered a true treasure trove in the heart of Europe.

Looking Ahead

Now, as I settle into my hotel room, Prague's charm lingers. My little pink heart is overflowing with delight! And you know what? Prague has completely enchanted me, with its beauty, warmth, and vibrant culture. It's the perfect place for a pink tutu blogger to explore, and I've barely scratched the surface.

And darling, what a wonderful thing to be able to share this journey with you! This is a reminder that even with the busy schedule of ballet and performances, life can still be full of incredible adventure! So remember, always embrace that special something that brings you joy. Just remember a dash of pink, a sprinkle of sparkles, and youā€™re good to go!
