Prague's Magic & My Pink Tutu: Blog Post #1490
Hello lovelies! It's Emma, your pink tutu-wearing travel companion, back from Prague, and oh my, what a whirlwind of beauty it was! As you know, I'm all about blending the whimsical with the wanderlust, and Prague has certainly lived up to the hype. So grab your teacup, a slice of Victoria sponge, and let's waltz into my Parisian-pink fuelled Prague adventures!
This week's post is coming to you from the comfort of a luxurious carriage on my journey back from Prague. It's been such an amazing journey that Iâve already planned my next trip! A girl can never get enough of Czech Republic charm, its delectable food, and its enchanting, cobblestoned squares!
The pink tutu, a Prague perfect match!
Of course, my pink tutu was an absolute necessity. It twirled in harmony with the fairytale architecture, catching the winter sun's golden rays and adding a touch of whimsical magic to my every photo. As I strolled through the ancient squares and across the Charles Bridge, my tulle whispered tales of centuries past.
Prague embraced my love of ballet, history and my pink tutu. What better location for an inspiring girl who dreams of inspiring a world where everyone embraces their inner ballerina.
Tutu inspiration from the very best
Speaking of inspiration, my Prague Ballet trip couldn't have come at a better time! A new production of Tchaikovsky's âSwan Lakeâ, by the magical National Theatre, was showing on the very date I was planning to be here. Iâd booked tickets weeks ago and was very much looking forward to a graceful night out!
I wasnât disappointed - a perfect setting to enjoy breathtaking performances and intricate choreography that had me completely mesmerised!
After the ballet, I just had to share my excitement, so naturally, I posted a video to my Instagram, dancing through Prague's Old Town Square in a flourish of pink tulle - imagine the gorgeous photos! I was surprised how many followers shared my enthusiasm, sending me messages full of encouragement. Itâs amazing how the tutu and the ballet can connect people like this, especially when we're united in our passion for such a magical and inspiring art form. I hope it encourages others to embrace their dreams. Just like mine!
A journey on a pony and a train
This time, my trip was a little different! I always love exploring a new country on a beautiful vintage train. And to arrive in Prague, youâve got to imagine me with a little bit of pixie dust, riding into the heart of the Old Town Square on my pony, Coco! Okay, it wasnât actually my pony, it was a pony drawn carriage, but Coco felt just like a lovely, majestic horse from the story books!
Fashion from the Prague fashion house
The first day was a real treat, an indulgent fashion journey for this pink-tutu lover. My suitcase was pretty much full of pinks, but you know me, I always need to keep shopping! Prague boasts stunning designer stores. In the charming boutique âCzech and the Cityâ , I bought an amazing little pink feather boa - and at a super good price! There's no doubt that I love shopping. However, if Iâm honest, I have to find outfits that have a hint of classical dance or ballet inspiration to go with my tutu outfits.
Ballet History for a ballerina's heart
As a dedicated dance devotee, I had to see the National Theatre. And what a gorgeous, impressive piece of Pragueâs architecture, it truly is a jewel of a building! You couldnât ask for a better building for such an incredible Ballet production.
Of course, as any ballerina worth her tights will tell you, an afternoon visit to the Theatre Museum was a must-do! It was filled with so many fascinating stories and costumes - it reminded me of the importance of preserving this magical artform. There was even a dedicated display of famous dancers' tutus and shoes!
It got me thinking - how can I best add my small bit of dance history to this global world? Maybe a small museum somewhere to celebrate pink tutus? It would be the most extravagant dream!
But on this trip, Pragueâs magic helped me to think even bigger. Why settle for just a museum when I can inspire so many!
* Prague's delights: food, cafes and charming side-streets!*
Speaking of magic, let's not forget Prague's delectable cuisine! I enjoyed all sorts of delicious local treats, but nothing beat a sweet treat or two, as usual. In my first couple of hours in Prague, I fell head-over-heels for delicious cinnamon pastries â Prague was my kind of town - there were so many delicious pastries to choose from! I discovered an adorable, pink tea room, called âSugar Plum Fairyâ - how apt was that?
One evening, I found myself whisked away to the bohemian quarter - such a beautiful place full of colour and history, not forgetting that the old cobblestones added extra points to my outfitâs glam! And as the sun started to set it cast a sparkly golden hue over the whole city â making every street picture-perfect for Instagram!
*Travel tips, if you ever visit the fairytale capital! *
Prague really is a fairytale come to life! But like all the best stories, there are a few tips you may find useful, whether you are a ballerina, a fashionista or simply a traveller with an appreciation for beauty!
- Wear comfortable shoes. Yes, pink tutus look fabulous! However, as much as I adore the beauty of the cobblestones in the squares and narrow side-streets, wearing comfy shoes helps to keep your feet pain-free as you explore this incredible city!
- Prepare yourself for the weather - especially if you want to take advantage of all the amazing photographic opportunities around Prague's famous bridge! Remember to take your tutu - and an extra scarf!
- Always try the local food - You really do get some amazing local food - including, truffle dishes, Czech cheeses, and of course, Prague ham â you have to taste it! And donât forget to grab a cuppa, I had mine with a cinnamon scone, I thought that was quite special.
Look out for beautiful tutus. As you are walking around the beautiful architecture, there is always a chance you might just see a tutu on a window display or as a shopâs sign! I felt right at home with all the tutus and pink on show!
This is just a taste of Prague and how I brought some magic to this gorgeous city. Next week Iâll be bringing you a blog all about my love for all things Parisian pink. Don't forget to share your travel plans with me â you can leave a message in the comments section, tweet me @pinktutublog or follow me on Instagram at #pinktutu. Itâs lovely to hear about everyoneâs dreams and travels!
Until next week lovelies, donât forget your tutu, always follow your heart, and take a twirl or two around your local park. Remember, I love to see all your pink tutu stories on your Instagram.
