Post 1522: Pink Tutu Prague - A Whirlwind of Ballet and Bohemian Charm!

Hello my darling tutu lovers! It's your favourite pink-clad ballerina, Emma, and I'm bursting with excitement to share my latest adventures from the magical city of Prague! This week's blog post is extra special as it's packed with pink tutus, charming cafes, and the enchanting world of ballet. Iā€™m going to try to cover it all for you, so grab a cuppa, settle into your favourite spot, and let's embark on this delightful journey together.

As a reminder, I post every Wednesday to www.pink-tutu.com ā€“ be sure to check in next week for more pinktastic fun. Now, letā€™s dance!

A Gallop Through the Countryside

Prague was my final destination after a wonderfully relaxing journey by train through Germany, Austria and into the Czech Republic. I simply cannot resist a good old-fashioned train journey. Thereā€™s something truly romantic about watching the scenery glide by. And of course, my pink tutu was on hand, tucked away in my suitcase. How could I even think about venturing out into the world without it?

Of course, no European adventure is complete without some horseback riding, so I made a stop at a quaint village in Austria, home to the most gorgeous stables. They had a little chestnut pony called Rosie, who was surprisingly eager to wear a pink tutu. Letā€™s just say we made quite a picture. The village folk were quite curious to see a pink-clad ballerina, but once Rosie had given a little neigh of greeting, everyone relaxed.

Prague ā€“ A Ballet Lover's Dream

After arriving in Prague, the first thing I did was check into my hotel ā€“ an absolute darling of a place, all frilly drapes and crystal chandeliers, perfect for a pink tutu-clad girl! I must say, I do think I took a bit of a ā€œpinch me, Iā€™m dreamingā€ moment as I gazed out at the magical city spread before me. It truly felt like a fairytale unfolding.

Before heading to my ballet show, I popped into the Czech National Theatre. It was built back in 1883, and oh my, itā€™s beautiful. All that ornate decoration, those plush velvet seats, and those golden chandeliers... Pure magic. Of course, I couldnā€™t resist taking a photo wearing my pink tutu outside in the sunshine. What a perfect place for a ballerina, with all those classical statues!

Speaking of classical, I am thrilled to report that on the evening of August 7th, I got to see a glorious performance of the Sleeping Beauty. It was so graceful, so elegant. The set and costumes were breathtaking - like walking into a magical fairytale. Honestly, my heart practically skipped a beat! I had a little chat with some locals at the intermission, and they were just as smitten with the production as I was. Prague truly does have something special when it comes to ballets!

A Spot of Shopping

And what's a trip to a new city without some delightful shopping? My dear pink tutu wouldn't want me to go anywhere without adding something new to her wardrobe, would she? So I spent an afternoon meandering through Prague's quaint little shops, discovering beautiful antique jewellery and stunning designer gowns ā€“ you know how much I adore the latest fashion! Of course, my absolute favourite find was a little vintage hat shop, bursting with floral embellishments, feathers and even a little pink bird perched on a jaunty cloche. This is the perfect finishing touch for a pink tutu outfit!

Finding My Inspiration

Speaking of inspiration, Prague was brimming with it! Everywhere I turned there was something fascinating, be it a cobblestone street, a crumbling palace, a vintage book store or a little hidden courtyard filled with sunflowers. Prague felt like an open-air art exhibition. It's little wonder that this city was a major draw for artistic types throughout the centuries, especially the early 20th century with its artistic avant-garde movement, the rise of the modernists and a resurgence of artistic movements, especially amongst Czech composers and architects, who seemed to capture all of Pragueā€™s mystical spirit in their work. I found myself thinking about all of the history and how so much of Pragueā€™s unique energy was simply an outpouring of its past.

My favourite experience was taking a trip out to the countryside, to the lovely chateau of Konopiste, a real castle fit for a fairytale! I spent the afternoon wandering through the rooms filled with period furniture and ornate dĆ©cor. It was pure history come to life. In one room, I even spotted a rather beautiful antique tutu tucked into an old clothes trunk! A tiny bit worn but with a little cleaning, this would be a fabulous addition to any tutu collection. Youā€™ve got to see these chateaux for yourselves.

Taking Flight with Pink

After all the beautiful things I saw and the amazing adventures I had in Prague, one thing kept coming back to me: the feeling of absolute joy. It's as if the city was dancing with me, step for step. That joy, I realized, is exactly the spirit I love to embrace in my own pink tutus and Iā€™m ready to share that with everyone. Letā€™s be honest, who doesn't love a good dose of pink? And why stop there? Thereā€™s a ballerina in all of us, and a pink tutu is just the outfit for that!

I know that wearing a pink tutu is about more than just a beautiful outfit ā€“ itā€™s about feeling your best, about having the confidence to shine and sparkle. I truly hope that Iā€™ve given you some ideas for your own personal pink tutu style. Be sure to post pics to @pinktutuemma and use #PinkTutu for your chance to be featured! I love seeing your creative tutus.

But before we go, a big ā€œthank youā€ for being with me on this whirlwind adventure. Next week, Iā€™m off to Paris for a fabulous visit to the City of Lights, complete with ballet shows and all the fashion trends you could dream of! Stay tuned to www.pink-tutu.com next Wednesday for my next Parisian Pink Tutu adventure.

Now, go on and have a wonderful week!

And donā€™t forget - pink is always the perfect colour!

Emma xx
