Hello lovelies! 🩰
This week, I'm whisking you away to the beautiful city of Prague! My latest adventure is already turning out to be a dream come true. After my delightful pony ride through the countryside (the fluffy, grey one did a bit of a jig!), I hopped on a train and landed here with a heart full of excitement. I can't believe I've never been to this stunning city before!
Of course, I couldn't resist donning my favourite pink tulle tutu (it's the "Spring Bloom" number – you saw it on my Instagram, right?!) – and Prague is simply made for it. Think cobbled streets, majestic architecture, and a whole lot of romance. I can practically hear the Tchaikovsky waltzes floating in the air already!
A Little Bit of Ballet History
You might not know this, but Prague has a rich ballet history. Back in the 16th century, a lot of ballet performances were happening right here in this city. Think courtly dances, elegant figures, and oh-so-dramatic gestures. They were doing it big in Prague!
Did you know the modern tutu wasn't even around back then? Fancy! Can you imagine wearing a big, flouncy skirt to dance in, like the courtly dames did in those days? Luckily, we have the beautiful, graceful tulle tutus to work with now – all those layers and soft fabric create the most stunning effect!
Shopping for Prague's Delights
Speaking of tutus, I’ve already done a little shopping, obviously! I popped into this sweet shop in the old town square, with all the most beautiful little trinkets you can imagine. My eye caught sight of this adorable tiny pink tutu, and well, let’s just say it’s come home with me. It's just the perfect addition to my growing collection of miniature tutus – one day, I'll have an entire pink tutu museum! (Anyone have any spare rooms? Asking for a friend… )
And did you know they sell these cute little ballerina keychains in Prague? Naturally, I had to buy a handful of them. 🔑 I’ll be using those as little souvenirs for everyone – I bet they’ll be a huge hit!
A Ballet Treat at the Theatre
Prague's Old Town Square has some beautiful historical buildings, and I discovered there's a theatre with some lovely traditional puppet shows, some of which feature ballet dancers – adorable! I spent the evening with the puppets (I know, I’m a little too old for that! 😂 but it was enchanting), and their dance moves were just incredible.
Ballet and Street Style in Prague
Of course, the best part of this trip has to be the ballet performances! 🩰 I spent the afternoon exploring the magical world of Czech ballet, and it blew my mind! They really know how to tell a story with their movement. It was so intricate and emotional.
But it’s not just about the formal stuff; the streets themselves are overflowing with the spirit of ballet! Everywhere I look, I see beautiful women who’ve incorporated elements of ballet fashion into their style – a graceful, feminine, flowy skirt, or a delicate little shrug that perfectly encapsulates that timeless balletic elegance.
I must admit, it gave me a ton of inspiration for some new outfits! I can't wait to show you what I come up with – it's going to be a whole new level of pink tutu magnificence. ✨
Tutu Time! Get Ready to Sparkle
Speaking of outfits, Prague is just bursting with exciting opportunities for ballet and fashion inspiration. I spotted a cute ballet-inspired boutique yesterday. Imagine – all the most fabulous tutus and dancewear you can imagine, ready to transform you into a princess, or a prima ballerina.
But this week, it's about seeing Prague and living that #PinkTutu life to the fullest! So, be sure to tune in next week when I bring you all the details about a particularly magical performance, featuring some breathtaking, incredible costumes.
Oh, and don’t forget to get yourself a pink tutu – life’s simply not as much fun without one!
Sending you loads of love from Prague,
Emma xoxo
