Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad adventurer, Emma, writing to you from the magical city of Prague! ??✨
I know you've been eagerly awaiting my Prague updates, and trust me, my lovelies, this trip has been absolutely fabulous. I mean, Prague is practically bursting at the seams with fairytale charm, from the winding cobbled streets and ornate architecture to the friendly locals and delectable Czech cuisine. And, naturally, the ballet scene here is exceptional!
Before I tell you all about my glorious adventures, let's take a moment to chat about tutus. A crucial aspect of ballet history (and frankly, tutu-history), which is my particular obsession. Did you know that the earliest "tutus" were more like calf-length, frilled skirts? The tutu we all know and adore didn't actually appear until the mid-19th century, when the famous Russian ballerina Marie Taglioni graced the stage in a super short, feathered wonder. It was revolutionary! Imagine the uproar, darling! Can you see yourself in one back then?
But anyway, back to the magical city of Prague! As always, I planned my trip meticulously, making sure I had enough time for both sightseeing and oh-so-fabulous ballet outings. Because I believe a good balance is crucial for a truly fulfilled life, don't you? I’m never one to simply stick to the usual tourist routes, darling! So this time, I decided to get a little creative with my travel arrangements.
Instead of just hopping on a boring plane, I thought, "Why not arrive in style?" So, after a charming train journey from Derbyshire (always an adventure, those train journeys, don't you think?), I finished my journey in Prague by... wait for it... pony! I hired a gorgeous little grey pony and he trotted me right into the city, through the park, just like a storybook character. The tourists just loved me, darling! They kept taking pictures and I even gave out little pink tutu-themed bookmarks with my blog URL, naturally! ?
As a true pink tutu devotee, my main objective in Prague was to find a beautiful, blush-tinted tutu that I could add to my collection. Thankfully, Prague is overflowing with independent boutiques brimming with vintage fashion treasures! After hours spent rummaging through racks of glittering vintage delights, I discovered a veritable jewel of a tutu. Made with the softest, silkest tulle imaginable, and adorned with shimmering silver embellishments, it's the perfect addition to my collection and absolutely embodies Prague's elegant, romantic vibe! I can already imagine the dramatic pirouettes I'll execute while wearing this beautiful creation...
Speaking of pirouettes, one of the highlights of my trip was witnessing the spectacular ballet performance at the National Theatre. Now, I don't want to spoil the details for you, darlings, so you must check out the performance yourself if you get the chance! Trust me, it will leave you feeling absolutely enchanted. There’s nothing quite like witnessing the beauty and grace of live ballet in such an historical venue. The performance left me feeling positively inspired, filled with a new appreciation for the dedication and artistry of the dancers.
Now, naturally, any visit to Prague wouldn’t be complete without some exploring. After all, the city has so much to offer. We spent our days meandering through charming cafes (absolutely essential for any fashionista's day, don't you agree?), marveling at the iconic Astronomical Clock, and soaking in the stunning views from the Charles Bridge. I also picked up some traditional Czech porcelain for my collection, because every good ballerina needs her teacup to reflect the elegance of the stage, wouldn't you agree?
My darlings, this isn't just another "Prague blog", it's an invitation to experience this enchanting city with your own eyes and hearts. And remember, every city has a hidden ballerina, just waiting to be discovered. Let's go and dance in our own pink tutus!
Of course, the pink tutu is just a small part of my larger ambition. You see, I dream of a world where everyone is wearing pink tutus. Doesn’t it just make sense? What's more vibrant, fun and joyous than a pink tutu?
