Pink Tutu Prague - Post 1725

Hello my darling dears! It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing travel blogger, writing to you live from the most magical city in Europe - Prague!

I've been dying to come to this enchanting city ever since I saw my first picture of Prague Castle on the back of a dusty old postcard in a vintage shop back in Derbyshire.

As you all know, I simply adore travel by train. This time, I opted for the glorious Eurostar to Paris followed by a luxurious overnight train from the City of Lights itself to the Czech capital.

Now, the night train from Paris was quite the experience! Imagine my delight to see all these other chic, well-travelled women adorned in fabulous attire, from sophisticated floral dresses to glamorous red lipstick, all en route to their adventures! Then, at midnight, this kind old gentleman opposite me even serenaded us all with his violin, playing beautiful gypsy tunes, just like they used to do in the 19th Century! How absolutely delighted I was!

To my surprise, this grand gentleman turned out to be a fellow ballet lover, having played with the National Ballet Theatre of Czech Republic himself many moons ago. It was such a beautiful little meeting! Turns out, we even shared a mutual appreciation for pailletted tutus - just my cup of tea!

This trip was partially funded by a most magnificent performance for a society ball back in Derbyshire. As usual, the show was a huge hit - and they even asked me to twirl with a particularly dashing fellow who appeared to be quite the 'lord'! Oh my!, but I almost forgot to mention his very impressive pink silk top hat and tailored outfit - we must have made quite the pair!

Speaking of Prague, can we talk about this beautiful city?! Oh my heavens!

I'm just in love with its historic architecture, cobblestone streets, and the breathtaking views of the Vltava River.

Naturally, the first thing I had to do was find a beautiful ballet school, of course! Imagine my absolute glee upon stumbling upon the Taneční Konzervatoř Praha - just around the corner from the magical Old Town Square! They were thrilled to hear I was from the land of the iconic Royal Ballet - and to their even greater surprise, I let them in on my big secret...that I wear pink tutus every single day, of course!

After that whirlwind, I needed to find some fabulous shoes and the most elegant pink silk dress, to really blend in with the city's elegant Parisian vibes. Well, I simply had to find myself the most gorgeous outfit! Thankfully, the gorgeous little vintage store 'Old Fashioned Dreams' * just around the corner, was *absolute magic! I picked out a pink satin dress (complete with ruffles!) - my perfect partner in crime for a tour of the Prague Castle, as the day wore on. The most wonderful woman I met inside, who helped me pick out the most adorable vintage pink clutch bag - said she'd worn this exact bag to the Prague Spring International Ballet Festival all the way back in the 1980s! I literally wanted to hug her for telling me this story - and we both know she'd been watching this whole time while I was twirling with a perfect ballet leg-stretch, for her amusement!

Talking about ballet, there's such a special ballet scene in Prague. You all know my motto - pink tutu magic, and of course it is here too! In fact, I hear there's a legendary ballet company - The National Theatre's Ballet Ensemble - that I simply have to see, so I'm looking forward to a lovely, spectacular evening performance!

Speaking of Prague's must-sees, how could I miss a visit to the stunning National Theatre. It is breathtaking and a magnificent example of the city’s glorious Neo-Renaissance architecture.

Naturally, as I was waltzing past the Dancing House and the Charles Bridge I spotted the most incredible tutu boutique! How lucky! It even sold a collection of limited edition tutus - one was even emblazoned with Prague Castle. Oh, and let’s not forget the delightful ‘pink tutu' accessory that would be absolutely perfect to make my new outfit complete. Grateful, as ever, for the incredible chance to dress the part while on holiday!

Of course, my pink tutu wouldn't be complete without some pretty flowers, would it?! In the Petrin Hill's Botanical Garden I purchased a little bunch of pink roses! It was like being transported back to my old Derbyshire rose garden with all those sweet blooms, and with a glorious scent. The scent of roses is, undeniably, the most magical perfume of them all. Especially in a gorgeous old rose garden like this.

Now, I simply had to catch a delightful glimpse of the Charles Bridge's iconic baroque architecture with all its breathtaking statues, and naturally, I had to twirl for a picture with the perfect rose-hued glow in the sunset. Imagine it, my darling dears!

I have absolutely fallen in love with this wonderful city. In fact, my pink tutu and I are having a brilliant time. I think it will take more than a few ballet moves, a fantastic show or a beautiful sunset, for me to ever forget my adventure here. I know I’ll be back!

Until then, my sweet darlings, let me remind you that your daily dose of pink tutu magic is always just one spin away! Remember to follow me on my social media, shop at www.pink-tutu.com, travel safely, and remember:

Spread the pink tutu magic and don't be afraid to twirl like you're on top of the world!

See you all soon!
