I've been eagerly waiting for this one, and oh, it was everything I dreamed of and more! The "Snow White On Ice" production was simply breathtaking. I loved the way they weaved in those dazzling figure skating sequences with the classical ballet steps. It was like a dream, like a glittery wonderland where the stage was transformed into a glittering ice palace. And let's not forget those magical costumes – the sheer fabric, the delicate beading, the shimmering snow effects… perfection! This is what winter is all about: dazzling beauty and dazzling spectacle!
The Magic of "Nutcracker" at His Majesty's
No ballet season would be complete without "Nutcracker," and His Majesty’s Theatre truly did the piece justice! From the playful charm of Clara’s Christmas Eve party to the sugarplum fairies flitting through the magical land, the production was filled with enchanting details. It’s almost impossible to not feel swept away by the Christmas magic! The vibrant colours, the adorable mice and the snow swirling on stage - everything felt like a fairy tale brought to life! I left the theatre with a grin on my face and the feeling of wonder and joy you get from a perfectly told story. And, if we're talking joy, don’t even get me started on those fluffy tutus! They were like miniature clouds of joy, floating through the air – simply divine!

Ah, "Carmen," my forever favourite! I've lost count of the times I've seen it performed, but each performance seems to carry its own unique energy and captivating intensity. Aberdeen's Music Hall hosted not one, but two breathtaking productions – "Carmen" and "The Corsican Brothers". Both captivated audiences with their fiery performances, and I found myself utterly entranced.
“Carmen" offered up an explosion of emotions. It’s a dance of power and passion, of love and loss, and I love the drama! And the sheer physicality of the dancing? It’s no mean feat, and the dancers were truly phenomenal. In "The Corsican Brothers" we saw a truly magnificent spectacle of skill and theatrical genius, blending ballet and dramatic performance into one breathtaking piece. The choreography was exhilarating – everything about this production left me in awe.

Seeing the spark of passion in their eyes is just as exciting as watching the professionals dance – the future is certainly bright for ballet in this city. And there is so much support, too! Whether it's the local dance academies, the dedicated teachers, the enthusiastic families and the general community’s love of dance – it's something very special to witness!
