Darling, I’m so delighted to be back in the saddle for another month of twirling, swirling, and sighing with delight at all that the world of dance is offering up. April, the month of April, it's practically bursting with beauty. And you know me, darling, I'm always ready to soak it all up!

This month, my dear, it’s been a whirlwind, with such divine offerings from both established troupes and daring new creations. It seems that we are living in a glorious age for the ballet world, a world so brimming with creativity, and what a blessing it is. So many exciting talents to watch, a perfect opportunity to explore new artistic horizons and, dare I say it, let the glitter seep into our very souls. And just a whisper about my own endeavors, let me say, darling, that things are looking good - my schedule is jam-packed with appearances, master classes and a certain special commission, of which more soon, but I do promise you won't want to miss it! So, with a twirl of my tutu and a fluttering of my lashes, let’s begin!

A few weeks ago, I found myself in London, a city so wonderfully captivating and teeming with artistic fervor, it was almost overwhelming. But, as ever, I braced myself and embarked upon a thrillingly varied agenda, taking in as much as my poor dancing feet could manage. Let me just say, darlings, you should put London on your list - it’s so happening! And for starters, there was the divine **Royal Ballet** - the absolute, utter creme de la creme, the darling of London's ballet scene and frankly, my long-standing obsession. The recent performance of **Sleeping Beauty** at the Royal Opera House - utterly fabulous! This classic is so exquisitely crafted, every step and every flutter of a costume is sheer perfection, and I tell you, darling, that Aurora, what a creature, a delicate butterfly, but strong too, her power radiating throughout the whole theatre! Such brilliance and grace. They simply don't make 'em like this anymore!

I am never short of excitement when it comes to the **Royal Ballet**. Each performance offers a delightful kaleidoscope of exquisite movements, breathtaking technical mastery, and heartfelt storytelling. It’s truly an exquisite dance that’s a must-see. They know how to capture your heart, and of course, you'll be humming the music for weeks!

From London, darling, I simply had to dart over to Paris. Now, who doesn't love Paris? A city that's simply a treat for the senses, with every corner boasting a new visual delight, from cafes and museums to glorious fountains. And speaking of beauty, darlings, let's talk **Paris Opera Ballet.** This season, they unveiled a fresh interpretation of **Giselle**, one of my absolute favourites, and I must say, it did not disappoint. Now, it might sound presumptuous of me, but I found the entire performance simply thrilling, so vibrant, an exciting spectacle with new layers of emotion. It really brought tears to my eyes, which for a dancer is a high compliment, you know what I mean? It was also incredibly satisfying to see such a powerful story about an individual who goes beyond what’s expected of them.

While I have an endless fascination with classics, my true heart does beat for innovative contemporary creations. It's no surprise then that my next stop in Paris was for **Balanchine's Jewels.** Now, Balanchine, I must say, is a complete genius! A visionary and true artistic powerhouse. You’d think such a classic would have nothing new to offer but darling, every time it is staged it manages to mesmerize me. These dancers are like pieces in a magical puzzle, flawlessly synergising and telling a silent story through pure emotion and incredible artistry, a total symphony of movements. Each piece, inspired by the grandeur of jewels, oozes beauty. Every twist, turn and leap felt entirely fresh, each moment imbued with such profound meaning that you cannot help but be taken aback. This dance is nothing short of magnificent.

Now, dear readers, it's time to share a piece of news that truly sparked my excitement, and that, dear, is the opening of a new **Ballet School in Hong Kong.** You see, the dance world has always held a soft spot for Asian cultures. The grace and flexibility, a mesmerizing harmony between fluidity and strength that has captivated dance enthusiasts for ages. I was overjoyed to discover this vibrant new addition to the Hong Kong dance scene, where the dedication and ambition for all things graceful, is reaching exciting new heights! And what a thrill for me, as my own upcoming production, inspired by the intricate and evocative beauty of Asia, will take inspiration from this new spirit and talent! You might have even noticed it reflected in some of my costume design, but that's for another time!

As I continue to be inspired by my global exploration of ballet, darling, there’s nothing more captivating than watching an enchanting dance unfold in an atmosphere so imbued with passion and artistry! This is the core of what drives me, and makes every single trip, every step on stage, a true, thrilling journey for the soul!

And now, for a little closer to home, some news closer to you, darling! I know so many of you, as true devotees to the ballet world, follow me and I’ve been dying to announce something I've been keeping close to my chest, and that is my latest collaboration! A new production that I've been brewing, blending a classic flair with a bold, daring new concept! And let me tell you, darling, it's absolutely divine and sure to leave an unforgettable imprint on you, it’s something quite extraordinary! I've spent hours honing my artistic vision with my creative team, blending my vision of ballet with an edge of something brand new, fresh, something that dares to be truly spectacular, a show that dares to push the boundaries of ballet while staying true to its essence. We've also gone to town with the costumes, which I've taken so much personal joy in designing - all the silks, satins, lace, you can just imagine the swirls of colours, they'll be spectacular! I won’t give too much away just yet, darling. Let's just say, you will not want to miss this one, trust me. I promise it’s a feast for the senses!

And then, my dearest, we must mention this month's hottest ticket, this breathtaking exhibition featuring **Alexander Calder’s “Cirque Calder.”** Oh darling, the sheer beauty, it takes my breath away. The art of Calder's miniature, dancing sculptures is a perfect example of artistic expressiveness in such an ingenious, mesmerizing form. Such movement, and joy in his creations! Now darling, it's just begging to be danced! We can feel his movement in every fibre of our being and it was absolutely inspiring, a fantastic display of ingenuity. His circus troupe is such an irresistible, endearing, joyous ensemble - like tiny ballet stars dancing and twirling! I have found myself inspired by this beautiful expression of play, his delightful approach, such charm, it has really reignited my fascination with puppetry, the magic of a creation that becomes something more. We all need a dose of playful joy, my dears!

Dance is more than just a movement of limbs, darling, it's the language of our souls, a beautiful reflection of who we are, a kaleidoscope of feelings that cannot be expressed in words.
