Pink Ballet Tutu Reviews at www.pink-tutu.com

Oh darlings, it's been another whirlwind month of fabulous productions and decadent shows! As ever, I've been jet-setting around the globe, soaking up all the best that the performing arts scene has to offer. My diary has been overflowing with champagne receptions, exquisite dinners, and, of course, some breathtaking performances.

I kicked off the month in the glorious city of Paris, where the Palais Garnier was ablaze with the stunning production of "La Bayadère." The grand opulence of the sets and costumes transported me to a dazzling fantasy world, and the Corps de Ballet were simply divine, a blur of white tutus and exquisite precision. But the real highlight, my dears, was the performance of the radiant Natalia Osipova, her dancing so fluid and powerful, you simply couldn't tear your eyes away.

From the ethereal grace of the "Kingdom of Shades" to the dramatic passion of the final act, every moment was an exquisite treat. The audience was captivated, erupting in a cacophony of applause at the end. Afterwards, a delightful champagne reception ensued, with guests swirling and laughing in the grandeur of the Grand Foyer. The champagne flowed freely, the air thick with excitement, and my new feather boa was positively divine!

My next stop was a whirlwind of a trip to the New York City Ballet, where a new production of "The Nutcracker" promised to redefine this beloved classic. The production, designed by none other than the darling Alexander McQueen, was utterly breathtaking! Imagine, a celestial tapestry of midnight blues and shimmering silvers, juxtaposed against the bright vibrancy of Christmas decorations. And then there were the costumes, oh, the costumes! They were positively avant-garde, a fusion of modernism and Victorian flair. Each tutu was like a work of art, shimmering with crystals and exquisite hand-painted detailing. The "Snowflake" pas de deux was particularly delightful, a snowflake's fragility met with a charming touch of sensuality. It left me feeling enchanted, transported to a magical wonderland of glittering snow and the intoxicating scent of gingerbread. The after-party was the perfect way to cap off the evening - a delightful gathering at the glittering MoMA, the conversation a delicious mix of ballet and fashion, my darlings, exactly what this old soul adores!

But of course, it wouldn't be a month of ballet without a trip to Covent Garden, now wouldn't it? This time, they were presenting a special three-week celebration of Balanchine's works. And let me tell you, this legendary choreographer was a true visionary. His ballets are pure artistry, a seamless blend of fluidity, strength, and, dare I say, drama. The programme was truly eclectic, from the lyrical "Symphony in C" to the ethereal "Agon." My personal favourite, however, was the timeless "Theme and Variations" . Seeing the Principal Dancers at their most breathtaking was quite frankly, a delight! Their flawless execution, coupled with the elegance of the costumes and sets, was simply mesmerizing. And the atmosphere after the show, amongst the distinguished crowd? Simply delightful! So much chatter about technique and aesthetics, mixed with the ever-so-important "how's your season going darling?" gossip - truly my favourite part of it all.

Here are some of the performances that have had my heart fluttering and my toes tapping this month * **The Royal Ballet's production of "Giselle"**: The first night was breathtaking, dear. It was an absolute tour de force from the beautiful Sylvie Guillem. Her performance was a study in emotional depth and breathtaking virtuosity. Her effortless grace and delicate movements in the "mad scene" had me in tears. It truly encapsulated the delicate balance of femininity and fragility, power and passion. Simply divine.

Speaking of Sylvie, you just have to catch her in "Romeo and Juliet" too, darlings! Her captivating portrayal of the heartbroken Juliet is truly a masterpiece. Her fluid movements are matched by the raw, heartbreaking expression she brings to each scene. My darling, prepare for the full emotional experience - I guarantee tears!

* **The Bolshoi Ballet's "Don Quixote":** What an energetic, vibrant production! From the swirling flamenco rhythms of the opening act to the final dazzling grand pas de deux, this ballet is a delightful whirlwind of color, excitement, and pure theatrical spectacle. The company’s brilliant dancers were simply sensational, radiating energy, especially the glorious Natalia Ivanova, who had the audience enchanted with every move! The costumes and the set design were a vision of extravagance, the opulence and colour almost making you dizzy with the pure joy of it all. * **The Mariinsky Ballet's "Sleeping Beauty":** Oh my darling, "Sleeping Beauty" is pure elegance, a ballet that's practically dripping with luxury and opulence. The sets are breathtakingly detailed, filled with exquisite textures and luxurious details. And the dancers? Simply magnificent, their elegant steps flowing with such grace and effortless beauty that it's almost magical to watch. The fairy scene alone is enough to make anyone feel transported into a realm of fairy-tale enchantment. Don't miss the grand finale either. The entire stage ablaze with color, with hundreds of dancers in the most exquisite gowns, and oh, that breathtaking music, you simply have to see it to believe it.

In between the glorious world of ballet, I was lucky enough to attend several delightful shows and events. I adored "An Evening with John Cage" at the Metropolitan Museum in New York, a beautiful exploration of contemporary art and music that really sparked some great conversation at our cocktail party afterward. Then in London, the "Frieze Art Fair" was a simply splendid affair, packed with interesting art, provocative conversation, and darling, the people-watching! I simply adore the art scene, it always gives me endless inspiration for my costumes. I even snagged an exclusive piece from a young Italian artist for my studio. Absolutely divine. Of course, no visit to London would be complete without a visit to the grand "Royal Opera House," so I indulged myself in a night of breathtaking "Verdi."

So darling, you can imagine, my little black book is quite literally bursting with incredible memories. I'm already looking forward to the upcoming month! My journey begins with a whirlwind tour of Japan, with the “kabuki" festival, and of course, a bit of cherry blossom-viewing with an array of delectable tea houses! Then it’s off to Rio de Janeiro for the incredible “Carnival” — I am simply beside myself with excitement. Imagine the costumes, the music, the dancing, my dears! A truly unique blend of art, performance, and pure extravagance. It promises to be quite the unforgettable experience.

I know the end of the month brings a long-awaited "Swan Lake" performance at the Royal Albert Hall with the English National Ballet. The beautiful costumes, the breathtaking dancing, it’s a night of sheer magnificence! And darling, let's not forget the magnificent post-show party!

My darlings, you know I adore a bit of “champagne supper” afterwards to chat about the evening, exchange whispers about upcoming performances, and let me tell you, I’ve already been invited to a very special, private gathering with several influential art dealers and socialites, quite the “meet-and-greet” indeed. So, darling, let me know when you are coming to the next event, and be sure to keep up with my blog and social media accounts for all my latest updates. My schedule is rather packed for the next few months, so catch up with me when you can. I can’t wait to share my experiences with you all.

Yours in pirouettes and champagne,

Audrey
