Pink Ballet Tutu Reviews at www.pink-tutu.com

October, oh October! The air crackles with anticipation as we step into a new season, one brimming with creative energy, vibrant colour, and, of course, breathtaking ballet.

My little black book is filled to the brim with dates and must-see performances, so grab a glass of something bubbly, darling, and let's dive into the whirlwind of exquisite dance that awaits us.

London is where the magic begins this month. The Royal Opera House is a must-visit, naturally. I simply adore the way they take on classics with such fresh interpretations. This month, I'm especially excited about Swan Lake. I'm hearing whisperings that their new production takes a bold, daring approach to the timeless story, reinterpreting the classic white swan costumes with a touch of modern sophistication. I, for one, can't wait to see how they've styled Odette, darling. Let's just say I'm adding my favourite pearl choker to my ballet outfit for the occasion, just in case!

While we're on the subject of classics, darling, the English National Ballet is staging a production of The Nutcracker, and oh my, the costumes! I hear the set design is simply magnificent - a true ode to Christmas. You know I love a touch of sparkle around the holidays, so I’m dusting off my ruby red lipstick for this one. Expect lots of glitter, snowflakes, and a delightful festive atmosphere. The children will be ecstatic.

The heart of London's West End also beats to the rhythm of dance. The iconic Moulin Rouge! The Musical is still captivating audiences with its breathtaking spectacle. Oh darling, this one is a must! Picture Parisian flair mixed with breathtaking acrobatics and some of the most flamboyant costumes you’ve ever seen. Think corseted costumes in jewel-toned hues and dazzling feather boas – simply stunning. Expect a lavish, almost cabaret-style setting. My dear friend, Amelia, recently saw the show and was absolutely enraptured!

Now, onto a city renowned for its fashion prowess: Paris! The city that never sleeps, my dear! This month, it’s bursting with exciting performances that are bound to keep you glued to your seat.

A new, edgy ballet company is taking the Parisian stage by storm: Compagnie Hervé Moreau. They are performing Nuit Blanche at the Théâtre National de Chaillot and rumour has it it's a contemporary work that’s sure to push the boundaries of traditional ballet. I'm eager to see the sleek, minimalist aesthetic of the costumes and explore this modern take on dance. Let’s just say I’ll be pulling out my most avant-garde outfit for this one!

For a bit of classical elegance, head to the iconic Opéra Garnier. This month, they are featuring La Bayadère. Just the name evokes a certain sophistication and glamour, darling. You know it’s going to be a visual feast! You can expect a story full of tragedy and drama. Of course, I'll be looking out for the exquisitely crafted costumes – imagine shimmering, luxurious fabrics and graceful silhouettes. It’s definitely a showstopper. I can already imagine the shimmering details and the flow of the silks and satins - such grace, such artistry!

Speaking of grace, we can’t leave the Parisian scene without mentioning The Opéra de Paris. This month, they’re featuring Giselle, a truly beautiful performance. Expect lush costumes, romantic choreography, and, of course, a story about love and sacrifice. There are just so many things about this ballet that makes it truly special! If I'm being honest, my own style feels slightly influenced by it. I always adore a classic, chic ballet inspired look!

Moving onto a city that radiates artistic brilliance and modern culture -New York City, darling! There’s something for everyone in the Big Apple, even us dance lovers!

One production you don't want to miss is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland at the New York City Ballet. Expect bright colours, whimsical costumes, and an incredibly enchanting stage design that captures the very essence of Lewis Carroll's beloved story. My heart truly does flutter when I hear this music. I'm already picturing myself wearing a charming floral dress to the show. Think bold florals with a touch of lace. So lovely!

New York City Ballet, oh, how I adore them! Another production of note this month is their rendition of The Four Temperaments by George Balanchine. You know how I love anything modern, but elegant. The dance itself, the storytelling through the bodies, darling – so masterful! Plus, I hear the dancers are simply dazzling, especially in this minimalist and incredibly graceful work.

Across the pond in sunny Spain, let's head to Barcelona! I’m looking forward to the performances of the Ballet Nacional de España, especially their rendition of Sentir. A dance of passion and flamenco flavour? Sign me up, darling! This contemporary ballet takes on a story that reflects Spain’s fiery, vibrant personality. Be prepared to see dazzling costumes in jewel-toned reds and blacks that move gracefully in captivating rhythms!

Of course, a trip to Madrid always has me swooning. I recently read an interview with Víctor Ullate, and his production of El Sombrero de Tres Picos at the Teatro Real de Madrid just might be my favourite new discovery. A true Spanish dance masterpiece with a wonderful sense of humour! You’ll find yourself laughing one minute and then entranced by the dance the next. It’s truly captivating! And oh, those flamenco skirts – pure magic. Just darling!

I must admit, I love the National Theatre of Northern Greece as well. This month, they are hosting the production of Dancing with Ghosts, at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall. Their use of haunting and dramatic choreography is always a visual treat! This performance promises a hauntingly beautiful dance of forgotten souls and moving melodies. Oh my dear, be sure to have tissues handy, and an extra large dose of lipstick. Tears do have a tendency to run in this type of theatre.

Don’t be afraid to delve into the less-trodden pathways of dance, my dear, and embrace the art in all its diversity. Now, off you go to experience the enchantment of ballet! And don't forget to share your experiences with me! After all, a little chat about the latest shows is always a delightful way to end a balletic evening.

Till next time, darling. Happy viewing!
