Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! (Post #476)

Wednesday 20th July 2004

Buongiorno, darlings! This week I’m shimmying my way through the Eternal City, and it's so fabulous! As usual, my pink tutu has found a welcome home in Rome, where the fashion is vibrant, the gelato is dreamy, and the architecture is a masterpiece! This post is going to be bursting with photos of all the fantastic outfits I've been sporting. (Oh, and don't worry, I've got plenty of pics of my fab tutu, too! Pink power!)

My trip here was super smooth. I just love travelling by train; it's so much more glamorous than flying! This time, my train journey was a bit longer than usual, taking me from my home in Derbyshire, right through the heart of England, and then across the beautiful French countryside. I popped on a pink and white polka-dot dress for the journey, and I must say, I turned a few heads. (They were heads of admiration, naturally.)

As soon as I stepped off the train in Rome, I was overwhelmed with the romance and excitement of the place. The streets are a kaleidoscope of colours, the air is thick with the aroma of freshly baked bread, and the chatter is so lively and full of life. This is just the type of city I thrive in, where there's always a new adventure just around the corner.

The Ballet Beauty of Rome

Now, I couldn’t possibly come to a city with such rich cultural heritage and not take in a ballet show! I saw the most amazing performance of Swan Lake at Teatro dell'Opera. Oh, the grace and elegance of the dancers, the gorgeous costumes, and the magical music! I almost burst into tears at the beauty of it all. I can't help but dream of being a professional ballerina! I just know that if I keep up with my training, and wear my tutu to every performance, maybe I'll be dancing on that very stage someday.

Speaking of tutus, my Rome tutu has been a sensation. I've been wearing it on the Colosseum, at the Trevi Fountain, even at the Pantheon! It’s become a bit of a mascot. Everywhere I go, people smile and say hello, some even want their photo taken with me. It’s fantastic! Maybe I'll inspire some people to embrace the beauty of a tutu.

Fashionable Foodie Fun in Rome

Of course, I've been indulging in all the culinary delights that Rome has to offer! I've already tried the best spaghetti carbonara of my life, and I haven't even had to go into a fancy restaurant! I’m convinced that even a simple trattoria here can serve up pure magic in the form of pasta!

As for my own wardrobe, I've been channeling my inner Roman goddess. Think flowing floral maxi dresses, pastel pink blouses, and my trusty pink ballerina flats. It’s like all the colours and fabrics of Rome are magically inspired by the world of ballet! I'm obsessed with everything sparkly and pretty, so naturally, the glitzy fashion shops are my new best friends. I just couldn't resist the little beaded handbag in the window, perfect for my evening walk around the Trevi fountain.

The Spirit of Rome

But more than the fashion, food, and ballet, I think what truly captivates me about Rome is its energy. The city is buzzing with creativity, artistry, and romance. I can almost feel the echoes of the Roman Empire through the cobblestone streets, and every corner holds a fascinating tale waiting to be discovered.

A Tutu-ful Wish

You know, I truly believe that everyone can experience a little bit of magic in their life, just like I do. It's all about embracing what makes you happy, be it fashion, food, or something more whimsical, like dancing in a pink tutu! Don't ever let anyone tell you that you're too old to twirl.

Now, I'm off to wander the streets, lost in the beauty of Rome. I can’t wait to explore more of this gorgeous city. See you next week, darlings! Don’t forget to visit www.pink-tutu.com!
