Pink Tutu Rome: #508 โ La Dolce Vita, Ballet and Tutu-licious Treats! ๐ฉฐ๐ฎ๐น
Hello, my darlings! ๐ It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another fabulous Pink Tutu Rome adventure! As I type this, the sunshine is streaming through my window, the air is filled with the sound of chattering tourists and the tantalising scent of freshly brewed espresso drifts in from the cafe below. This is the life, isn't it?
This week has been utterly magical! I've been whisked away by the romance of Rome, experiencing its history, culture, and delicious food. Every corner feels like a scene from a film, a true "La Dolce Vita" moment!
Remember how I was telling you about my fundraising ballet performances back in Derbyshire? Well, I managed to secure a spot performing in a charity event for the beautiful Roman Ballet company! ๐ฉฐ It was a dream come true to perform amongst these talented dancers, and the audience absolutely loved it! They were so enthusiastic, I even had a few gentlemen attempt a "pink tutu" at the end of my performance - you know I was thrilled! ๐
My journey to Rome this time was pure magic. I took a luxurious overnight train ride from London โ complete with champagne, gourmet snacks and dreamy slumber โ which was utterly luxurious. Stepping off the train, the beauty of Rome enveloped me! And, of course, no journey to Rome is complete without a trip to the famous Pantheon, that breathtaking temple of architectural perfection! Its incredible dome and light streaming in are simply awe-inspiring. The history within its walls was truly humbling.
But what's a Pink Tutu journey without some fashion? I absolutely fell head over heels for a darling boutique called "La Ballerina" tucked away in a quiet side street near the Pantheon. The shop was full of gorgeous tulle dresses, intricate ballet shoes, and everything in a spectrum of pinks, just my style! Of course, I had to indulge in a gorgeous pink tutu for myself - it's just the perfect piece to twirl through the charming cobblestone streets of Rome!
Of course, no trip to Rome is complete without indulging in some of the delicious food. My first stop was at "Le Sorelle", a little family-run trattoria on a bustling cobblestone street. The smells coming from the kitchen were enough to entice anyone, but oh my! The pasta with truffles and the tiramisu? Simply divine. Every bite was a symphony of flavour!
The next day, I went on a guided food tour and oh my gosh! We stopped at the most charming food stalls and markets. From melt-in-your-mouth ricotta-filled ravioli, to hand-made gelato, to the most amazing authentic pizza I've ever tasted - my stomach was full of happiness! ๐
The highlight of my Rome trip was attending the world-famous Teatro dell'Opera di Roma! I mean, can you even believe the magnificence? The opera itself was stunning โ I was spellbound by the sheer power and emotion conveyed through music and performance. And I had to try the pink prosecco, it felt like a pink ballerina's dream! โจ
But let's talk about the highlight of my trip, apart from the breathtaking theatre โ my own pink tutu debut in Rome! As I strolled along the streets in my fabulous tutu, people smiled and complimented me! The streets suddenly felt more playful and joyful, it truly had that transformative power I've always envisioned! One little boy even ran up to me and gave me a hug. Can you imagine that?
I can already feel that pink tutus are starting to become a real movement! My darling friend Giulia (a fellow pink-loving ballet enthusiast from Rome) took me on an afternoon tea date at the gorgeous Hotel Hassler. She gifted me a beautiful silk scarf and even got her favourite designer to create a tiny tutu for my teddy bear! Oh my, I was so touched.
I am already thinking about my next pink tutu mission: Paris, of course! With my trusty travel bag full of pink outfits, I am ready to bring the magic of ballet and a sprinkle of pink joy to the world, one city at a time! ๐
I hope you're having a fabulously fun week, darlings! Until next Wednesday, be bold, be fabulous, and don't forget to twirl! ๐
XOXO
Emma
