Oh my goodness, darling readers! I'm back from a whirlwind trip to the eternal city โ€“ Rome, no less! Let's just say, I'm absolutely enchanted!

You know how much I adore travelling by train, so I skipped the plane this time, choosing instead to take a scenic journey through the Italian countryside. My darling little pink tutu had the entire carriage giggling - it's so lovely to bring a bit of Derbyshire sunshine wherever I go!

And let me tell you, Rome was a dream! Think ancient ruins, breathtaking architecture, vibrant markets overflowing with delectable cheeses, cured meats and local crafts โ€“ a real feast for the eyes (and the taste buds!). And did I mention the pasta? Divine! It was the kind of food that made my heart sing! ๐ŸŽถ

But darling, what's a ballet girl to do in Rome without a bit of ballet? Well, let me tell you โ€“ Rome has such a wonderful cultural scene!

I just had to go see La Scala Theatre on a Thursday. La Scala, you see, is one of the world's most famous opera houses, with a magnificent history. This is a very big deal! You know I love a little opera. In fact, on a whim, I even popped into a class at the Rome Opera Ballet School on the Saturday โ€“ talk about an incredible experience!

But it wasn't all culture, my dear. Shopping in Rome was heavenly. Now, let's just say there's nothing quite like indulging in some serious shoe shopping in Italy. ๐Ÿ‘  My little ballerina feet couldn't resist picking up a new pair of dancing pumps in a luxurious shade of pink, of course. You know, to bring a little touch of magic to my wardrobe. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Oh, and darling, how can I forget the Colosseum? The Colosseum was magnificent! This impressive ancient arena, once the centre of Roman entertainment and battles, stood as a testament to the empire's grandeur. It left me speechless. My little tutu twirled happily as I posed for photos, wishing I could go back in time to witness the gladiatorial games.

What Else Did I Do This Week?

Tuesday 01 April:

After a glorious journey through the countryside on the Italian train, I arrived in Rome and settled into a lovely little guesthouse in the charming Trastevere neighbourhood. A real fairytale location! After unpacking, I found myself a lovely trattoria where I enjoyed a plate of pasta carbonara that simply melted in my mouth. I then spent the evening wandering through the narrow cobblestone streets, taking in the vibrant energy and romantic ambiance of Trastevere.

Wednesday 02 April:

I started my day with a walk through the enchanting Piazza Navona, surrounded by street performers and captivating street art. It was all so wonderfully Italian, from the aroma of freshly brewed espresso to the animated chatter of locals. My love for photography truly flourished โ€“ there were so many interesting and inspiring details. Then it was time to visit the Vatican City. I couldn't resist popping into St. Peter's Basilica to marvel at the impressive frescoes, especially the iconic 'Last Judgment' by Michelangelo. After exploring the Vatican, I indulged in the ultimate Italian delight: Gelato! The creamy goodness of artisanal gelato paired with a touch of pink tutu magic โ€“ talk about a perfect afternoon.

Thursday 03 April:

My Thursday was devoted to La Scala! I went to see "La Bohรจme" - It was beautiful! I just loved the drama of it, the beautiful music, the way the performance drew me in and took me to another world. I went back to my guesthouse buzzing with excitement. What a wonderful start to my Rome adventures!

Friday 04 April:

After breakfast at my guesthouse, I embarked on an epic adventure to the Pantheon. Its majestic dome, with a circular opening at the top to allow natural light to illuminate the interior, was breath-taking! The Pantheon was even more magnificent than I imagined. You know, when it comes to architecture, Rome just doesn't disappoint! In the afternoon, I took a walk to Piazza del Popolo. From the Pincio Terrace, I had the most wonderful panoramic view over the city, its dome-shaped churches and winding streets. I couldn't resist capturing some magical pink tutu moments. Then it was back to the hotel, for a glass of wine on the terrace as the sun began to set over the city.

Saturday 05 April:

This Saturday was dedicated to Ballet and the Rome Opera Ballet School! I'd spotted it on a whim, as I was taking a detour to Piazza Venezia - the square of my very own Italian-style Roman Holiday! After my walk and photoshoot on the hill by the Altare della Patria, I couldn't help but pop in. And, guess what? I decided to participate in a class - a true Parisian Ballerina in a little pink tutu in the midst of Italy. It was delightful.

Sunday 06 April:

Sunday in Rome started with a very relaxing brunch. Then, my adventures took me on a walking tour around the beautiful Borghese Gallery and Gardens. The art at the Borghese was fantastic โ€“ the perfect balance between classical and Baroque. Of course, I stopped for photos with my trusty little tutu by the lake! In the late afternoon, I caught a bus back to my guesthouse, took a leisurely stroll through the cobbled streets and sat outside at a restaurant for the best pizzas I had ever tasted! ๐Ÿ•

Monday 07 April:

Monday morning, it was time to say arrivederci to Rome! I enjoyed one last cappuccino on a sunny terrace before jumping on a train and leaving for the picturesque Derbyshire countryside.

You see darling readers, life is for taking those romantic moments - and indulging in a bit of tutu magic! Whether I'm travelling, performing on stage, shopping or exploring, I try to spread that extra touch of sunshine and love, all wrapped up in a twirl and a touch of pink.

Remember, darling, itโ€™s never too late to Embrace Your Pink Tutu.

Until next Wednesday!

With love and twirls,

Emma x
