#PinkTutuRome: Ciao Bella! (Post 826)

Buongiorno from sunny Rome! I'm Emma, your resident Pink Tutu girl, and I'm so thrilled to be taking you on my latest adventure, a trip to the Eternal City! I've been itching to get here ever since seeing that amazing performance of Swan Lake at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma last year - such incredible costumes and a beautiful set. Rome is definitely the kind of place that calls out to you with its romance, history, and a vibrant energy that just crackles with possibility. I even brought a new, vibrant pink tulle skirt that’s perfect for exploring.

As usual, I got here by train. Nothing beats the journey across Europe, you really feel the heart of each country you pass through – all the cultures, landscapes, and smells are like a constant feast for the senses. And speaking of senses, I brought some new Pink Tutu-branded rose perfume! I just think it’s fitting to bring a bit of my personality wherever I go, so I always try to bring something a bit extra special.

I love discovering the best shops in each city I visit, especially those tucked away little boutiques you wouldn’t expect. So, before diving into Rome’s wonders, let’s indulge in some serious retail therapy! I am absolutely obsessed with the shoe shops here. Italian footwear just feels different! Those exquisite leather pumps and killer heels...I think I might need a suitcase just for my new purchases. And there’s this fantastic shop near the Trevi Fountain with the most amazing lace blouses - so beautifully embroidered, just dreamy! They are totally my vibe. If you’re in Rome, definitely pop in!

So, onto the main attraction: Rome. Today’s exploration is taking me to the Colosseum. What an incredible structure - truly breathtaking in its scale and magnificence. And the story behind it? History whispers through the ancient stones, I felt so much energy here! I even did a little twirl in my pink tutu amongst the ruins - imagine, those gladiators seeing a dancing pink princess! The crowd was stunned… or maybe just bemused. They did give me some very polite claps, and of course, I was in my element. Let’s just say, Rome's iconic structures are a beautiful stage for my tutus, and my pink tulle skirt has definitely made it onto my travel itinerary for this week.

Speaking of stages, this week’s Rome schedule is jam-packed with a trip to the Teatro dell'Opera to catch the legendary opera house’s production of La Traviata, I just cannot wait for that exquisite ballet performance! And on Saturday night, it’s an impromptu salsa night, organised by some local dancers! My love for dancing takes me all over the world - even to salsa bars in Rome! Maybe they need a ballet performance next? 😉

Oh, and let’s not forget the food! I just sampled some delicious tiramisu in a little cafe with red gingham tablecloths – pure Italian heaven! This city definitely has that authentic charm, and there's no denying the incredible sights, history, and energy Rome is buzzing with.

Remember, the beauty of travel lies in the experience, embracing every opportunity for joy, inspiration, and connection. So, get out there, wear your heart on your sleeve and a little pink tulle on your skirt, and let your love for life carry you to wonderful adventures! Next week's #PinkTutuRome adventure is in store, I am heading to The Vatican! Ciao!
