Pink Tutu Rome - Post 951: A Dance Through the Eternal City!

Ciao bellas!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu travel blog! And this week, I'm coming to you live from the dazzling and beautiful city of Rome! I've finally arrived after a fab train journey from Derbyshire – you just can't beat the romantic thrill of a European train trip. All aboard for adventure, right?

I'm already completely smitten with the charm and grandeur of this ancient city, but that's no surprise. I mean, just picture it – majestic piazzas, magnificent architecture, cobblestone streets, ancient ruins… It's just the most perfect place for a Pink Tutu princess to explore! And that's what I'm planning to do! This week's posts are all about my exciting adventures in Rome!

A Tutu-tastic Start to Rome

This morning, I was up early, ready to take on Rome in style, which meant starting the day with a beautiful ballet class at the Rome Opera House! I adore having a ballet class wherever I travel – it's such a great way to unwind, stretch out my muscles, and meet other lovely dance enthusiasts. It felt so fantastic to feel the rhythm and the flow in this stunning space.

After my class, it was time for a little Roman indulgence, so naturally, I headed to the charming Piazza Navona. This square is the heart of the city and I felt its heartbeat right away! It's brimming with street artists, buskers, and quirky shops, and you can really feel the vibrancy and history swirling around you. My new pink tulle tutu and sequined beret really stood out amidst the beautiful scenery – just wait till you see the photos!

Speaking of photos, I had to take a quick selfie, of course! The best part was that a sweet street artist stopped me and asked if he could sketch me in my pink tutu. Of course, I said yes! I can’t wait to get this artistic souvenir to hang in my dance studio in Derbyshire! He mentioned that I'd just missed the famous street ballet performances, but he promised to send me photos – and I bet he’ll keep his word!

Dinner, Dress-up and Opera!

For dinner, I couldn’t resist the temptation of an Italian feast, and Oh my goodness, the food was divine! The creamy pasta, fresh focaccia bread, and fragrant Italian wine… my taste buds were singing! I savoured every bite while soaking in the delightful ambience of a traditional trattoria.

To be completely honest, I feel quite exhausted after my long day exploring and sightseeing, but the most fabulous treat awaits! I've been lucky enough to get tickets for a performance at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma tonight. Of course, I’m going all out and wearing my most glamorous pink dress and glittering heels. I’m feeling very excited! I’m dying to see what spectacular show is on tonight – maybe the classic La Traviata or maybe even a fabulous contemporary ballet? It would be just amazing to witness the beautiful combination of music, art, and dance under such an exquisite vaulted ceiling!

I promise to bring you all the details in tomorrow’s blog. If you're planning a trip to Rome, don’t miss out on an opera or ballet experience – it’s a truly memorable and moving way to experience Italian culture and elegance. I can already feel my ballet heart is bursting!

I can't wait to share more adventures from my Italian trip! Check in again tomorrow for more exciting updates!

Until then, stay pink, my loves!

Emma
