Pink Tutu Rome: Post #1212 - A Week in the Eternal City!
Hello my darlings,
Itâs Wednesday, which means itâs time for a new Pink Tutu blog post! And guess what? I'm finally back from a whirlwind tour of Rome! I know, I know, I should've been posting all those Insta-stories like every other influencer, but frankly darling, the Eternal City was too much to capture in 15 seconds. I was too busy living it, if you know what I mean!
Before I even hopped on the train in Derbyshire, I was buzzing with excitement. It wasnât just about exploring the ancient ruins and breathtaking art (though letâs face it, who doesn't love a bit of ancient history with their cappuccino?) It was all about feeling the energy of this legendary city. Rome just exudes magic. And to add a little extra sparkle to my Roman adventure, I had just received the most beautiful custom pink tutu. I know, I know, how extra am I? It's made with shimmering rose gold tulle and intricate embroidery â truly fit for a Roman princess. (Though I am partial to wearing it with my trusty old trainers for running around exploring. But I shall refrain from showing you photos of that, let's keep some things sacred!)
Tutus, Trains & Timeless TreasuresAnd how do you travel like a true Pink Tutu-er? By train, of course! Nothing beats a long journey with a good book, a cup of Earl Grey (extra milk and sugar, darling) and a fabulously pink tutu to set the mood.
My journey through France was just breathtaking. The countryside was like a landscape painting come to life, filled with rolling hills, quaint villages and fields of wildflowers. The train whizzed past with the most satisfying clickety-clack, and all I could think about was the glorious adventure waiting for me in Rome. I mean, this was a Pink Tutu-er's dream come true!
Pink Tutu in the Colosseum!Speaking of dreams, stepping into the Colosseum was pure magic! Itâs one of those places you just have to experience to truly understand its power. I was speechless (almost). Imagine, gladiators battling in that arena â the roar of the crowd, the anticipation! The air around the Colosseum just feels charged with history, with those ancient stories lingering in every stone.
I twirled and spun around the Colosseum for hours, picturing the epic battles and grand events that had unfolded on that very ground. And let's just say my pink tutu looked absolutely smashing against that dramatic backdrop! I can't believe how many incredible photos I managed to take. I just couldnât resist taking a selfie or two, and of course, there were photos of my fabulously pink outfit with the Colosseum, and well, you'll have to visit my Instagram (@pinktutu) to see them!
Roman Fashion and BalletThe whole week was like a ballet show, with all its twists, turns and beautiful scenes. I had a fantastic time exploring Rome's incredible art scene and of course, indulging in some glorious Italian shopping! Letâs just say that every day, my luggage got a bit fuller, especially after a day of wandering through Rome's beautiful fashion stores and boutiques.
And then there was the ballet! Did you know that Rome is actually home to two fantastic opera houses, the Teatro dell'Opera and the Teatro Costanzi? You canât miss seeing the grandeur of these iconic theatres, and of course, attending a performance is an absolute must. Watching those ballerinas on the stage, so graceful and fluid in their tutus â it truly made my heart sing. It just inspires you, doesnât it? To dance with everything you have, to live with joy and passion.
Pasta, Prosecco, & Pizza PerfectionOf course, a trip to Italy isn't complete without indulging in some truly decadent Italian food. Every meal was an experience. From perfectly-made pasta dishes to creamy ricotta cheesecake, Rome offers a symphony of tastebud tantalizing treats! It was a constant battle between my insatiable appetite for all things delicious and the constant reminders that I did need to actually get onto the stage to pay for my fabulous Rome adventure!
A Glimpse into a DreamAs the week drew to a close, it was time to head back home. It was so bittersweet, to leave a place that stole my heart. The Italian sunshine seemed to linger even in Derbyshire, and a part of me couldn't wait to return. This wasnât just a trip, darling, it was a little taste of what dreams are made of.
And you know what? The pink tutu came home a little more vibrant, a little more sparkly than it did when it left. It seems a trip to Rome adds a little extra sparkle, like the city itself has woven its magic into the tulle.
I hope this post has inspired you to add a little Pink Tutu magic to your own life. Whether youâre in Rome, or Derbyshire or wherever, remember, you can make your life just as dazzling and fun. I leave you with a little piece of Roman advice, âCarpe diem!â Seize the day!
With love,
Emma (The Pink Tutu-er)
