Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! (Post #1350)

Ciao bella, darlings! 🩰 Emma here, back with another weekly dose of pink-tutu-powered travel adventures. This week, I'm buzzing from Rome – the Eternal City, a true masterpiece of history, art, and pizza! (Don't even get me started on the pizza! 🍕).

It feels like ages since my last train journey. Ahem, a stylish train journey, of course, featuring my signature pink tutu, some killer heels (I opted for blush pink stilettos this time), and my trusty beret, because every well-dressed ballerina knows that Parisian chic is always on trend. 🇫🇷

Rome by Rail: A Fashionable Fling

The train journey from Derbyshire to Rome was a symphony of delightful scenes – the English countryside whizzing by, followed by the majesty of the Alps, all while I had a first-class carriage to myself (and my very necessary collection of pink lipstick shades)!

Oh, did I mention? It was also the perfect excuse to indulge in my current book obsession - “The Story of Ballet”, the ultimate page-turner for any ballerina-at-heart (and a chic accessory for any train ride)!

Roman Holiday, Tutu Style

Once in Rome, I couldn't wait to explore the historic streets. I popped on my pink ballet flats and, with a giddy twirl, I was off to my first ballet class at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma – imagine a ballerina in a pink tutu on the Roman stage? The stuff dreams are made of! 🤩

Afterwards, a picnic by the Trevi Fountain, topped off with a perfectly sweet gelato, all the while soaking in the romantic atmosphere. The Colosseum was just breathtaking – the history there, truly palpable. I couldn’t resist channeling my inner Gladiator and striking a pose in my pink tutu. Let’s just say that “pink” was definitely not the dominant colour back in Ancient Rome! 😂 But then, breaking the rules is kind of my thing.

Fendi and Fontana, Oh My!

Now, Rome isn’t just about history, darling – it's a fashionista’s paradise! 🛍️ The Via Condotti – what a dream for any ballerina with a love for exquisite silk dresses, flowing skirts, and all things pink! I did indulge in a little bit of retail therapy at the Fendi store – a beautiful silk scarf in the palest pink, and, of course, I couldn’t leave Rome without a designer pair of pink pumps to match! 💃

Dancing Under the Roman Stars

Speaking of dreaming… On this day in Rome (21 April, 2021), there was an enchanting opera performance at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. You bet your tutu I secured front row seats and a glorious box to make this an event to remember. I may have been in a slightly more extravagant ensemble – pink sequined gown, pink tutu layered on top for good measure, and, of course, my pearl necklace. 👑

Every twirl and note transported me into another world – truly a feast for the senses. You can feel the magic, the power, and the dedication, just flowing around the venue, it was a symphony of love, laughter, and life itself!

A Tutu-tiful Goodbye

It’s always so bittersweet to leave a city like Rome – all the breathtaking scenery, delicious food, and the warm Italian smiles are something I’ll never forget!

And as my train chugs back towards England, I can’t wait for you to see the photos – and to inspire you all to add a touch of pink to your wardrobes, because Rome and her amazing ballet are calling out for the vibrant energy that only pink tutu fashion can deliver.

So, what are you waiting for, darlings? Pick a pink tutu – any colour will do (bright pink, blush pink, the more vibrant, the better!) Grab a pink bow or headband for the perfect touch, and come join the pink tutu revolution!

Until next week!

Lots of love,

Emma
