Yes, I'm in Rome, the Eternal City, and the excitement is positively bubbling over, like the prosecco we had for breakfast. (Just kidding, kind of - the gelato was definitely our main meal!).

Getting There: The Joy of the Train Journey
So, you’re probably wondering how this ballerina arrived in Rome. Well, darling, I wouldn’t have it any other way - I took the train! The Eurostar was my mode of transport, and you simply cannot beat it for the sheer glamour of it all. It’s so chic and stylish – much more sophisticated than hopping on a plane, don’t you think? I love how the scenery whisks you past, a kaleidoscope of beautiful, green rolling hills and bustling cities. It truly is like stepping back in time! I spent the journey admiring the passing world from my window seat, naturally decked out in my most fabulous pink outfit, because let’s face it, darling, I have a wardrobe full of fabulous pink outfits. Who can resist a little extra sparkle when travelling?
Rome's Ballet Buzz: A Magical Evening at Teatro dell'Opera
Once I was in the capital, I did what any true ballerina would do - I made my way straight to the Teatro dell’Opera! It was breathtaking! The ornate design, the sweeping staircase, and those chandeliers… they felt so royal! I saw ‘Swan Lake’, which, as a professional, I'd seen many times before, but it never fails to move me. The incredible costumes and the sheer talent of the dancers - just everything about the whole evening was exquisite. And the music? It was simply glorious, floating through the theatre, like the wind through my tutu, giving me chills all night!
Fashionably Roman: Shopping with a Pink Flair
One thing is for sure - I will always be drawn to a fabulous shopping experience! It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu blog if I didn't mention my Roman shopping spree. Oh, my dear, the markets and boutiques! They were overflowing with exquisite dresses, bags, shoes and jewellery… a veritable dreamland of pink hues. I am pretty sure I brought a whole new wardrobe back with me, darling! Rome truly knows how to treat a fashion-loving ballerina like a princess. And honestly, darling, who wouldn't want to feel like a princess in Rome?
Tutu Adventures on the Streets of Rome: Sharing the Love
I always like to be adventurous on my travels, and Rome is full of exciting possibilities! It was only a matter of time until my iconic pink tutus graced the cobbled streets of this magical city! I can’t help but love the feeling of turning heads as I sashay down the famous Via Condotti. Rome is truly a fashion city, where it seems everyone is strutting their style. My pink tutus fitted right in, darling! In fact, I received more smiles and compliments on my outfits than I have ever had in my life.
And let's face it - I can't leave Rome without some beautiful photos! That Colosseum - what a view! Who would have thought you'd get the most amazing backgrounds for ballerina photos in an ancient stadium?
Family Fun: Delicious Treats and Scenic Wonders
But let's not forget the true joys of travel, especially with family and friends. Of course, any Italian adventure needs gelato, a huge amount of gelato. The children were smitten with the flavours and I must say I am equally enamoured. It was the perfect little treat as we strolled through the historic Piazza Navona, watching the artists create their stunning works of art, feeling truly transported back in time. Rome truly is a city with magic around every corner. And when you think of Rome, you cannot leave without experiencing the majesty of the Vatican City! We spent the afternoon marvelling at St. Peter’s Basilica, admiring the architecture and feeling humbled by the sheer power of this place.
The Beauty of Rome in Pink:
Rome is a kaleidoscope of sights, sounds, smells, and tastes. A truly romantic, vibrant, and lively city. And with its glorious sunsets and its stunning history, it's also an extremely inspiring place! As I’ve wandered the beautiful cobbled streets and explored the enchanting back alleys of this ancient city, I’ve felt like my creativity has been buzzing! The romance, the elegance, the history, it's all so fascinating. It's really no wonder why the city has attracted artists and dancers for centuries.
