Buongiorno bella! Itās Wednesday, which means itās time for another Pink Tutu Rome post ā and I am just bursting with excitement! Today I'm spilling all the pink-tastic tea from my adventures in the Eternal City. Prepare for an overload of glitter, glam, and maybe even a little bit ofā¦ opera! š¶
For the uninitiated, this week's blog is coming to you straight from Rome, my lovely ladies. I know Iām pretty new to this blogging thing, but Iām determined to share the joys of being a tutu-loving, fashion-forward ballerina on a grand Italian adventure! As usual, Iāve been embracing the āpink lifeā ā and Rome just couldnāt be more accommodating.
Last week was an absolute whirlwind of cobblestone streets, ancient ruins, and breathtaking views. And let me tell you, finding those perfectly-Instagrammable pink spots for my tutu pics is no mean feat, but this Pink Tutu Queen always finds her way. The highlight of the week was definitely the Vatican ā that incredible mix of historical majesty and artistic wonder simply left me speechless!
Speaking of wonder, Iāve found the ultimate Roman souvenir: Gelato! I mean, how could you visit Italy without indulging in the creamy goodness of this dessert? This week, my colour scheme was on point: Pink strawberry and creamy vanilla - just what the doctor ordered!
A tutu and a Train, Oh My!
You all know how much I love taking the train ā a ballet outfit, a book, and a beautiful journey ā what more could you want? So naturally, arriving in Rome was an absolute treat! The journey from Derbyshire, my humble home, was made all the more beautiful with the anticipation of discovering all this historic city has to offer. The train is so peaceful, the gentle sway as you ride is so reminiscent of a dancer's movement. I almost wish I could wear my tutu while travelling!
Fashion in Rome
And talking of fashion, Rome is it. Think chic silhouettes, flowing fabrics, and a timeless sense of elegance. Everywhere I go, I see a whirlwind of textures and prints that perfectly capture the Italian essence. I am in love! Naturally, I am living for the pink hues here. From vibrant pinks to delicate rose tones, this city truly understands my passion for all things blush!
* Ballet Under the Roman Sky*
As much as I love a good pink-hued gelati, itās the theatre and ballet that truly make me tick. This week I finally had a chance to experience a show at the Teatro dellāOpera di Roma, and let me tell you ā I was simply mesmerized! The grandeur of the building, the energy of the dancers, and the sheer talent on stage - simply amazing. They have such incredible dancers here in Rome, their performances just leave me in awe. Their energy and grace left me feeling so inspired - I immediately knew my next blog post was going to be all about dance!
I also had the pleasure of attending a ballet class at Rome's famous Ballet School. Being back in a studio with such amazing talent really ignited my passion for dance once again. The dedication of these young dancers is inspiring. Their technique is exquisite. I definitely had to try and emulate them with my very own little tutus! š©°
Romeās Ballet Boutique
I would be lying if I didnāt say that shopping is another highlight of this trip. One of the joys of Rome, Iām discovering, is simply discovering hidden gems tucked away on winding streets. I discovered the most fabulous boutique - it was like walking into a ballerina's dream! Of course, everything was in the most exquisite shades of pink - think dusty rose, coral, and petal pink!
Now, I wouldnāt be a proper ballerina without some new pink shoes! Yes, I admit it, I purchased not one but two pairs of the most adorable ballet flats ā one dusty pink for everyday wear, and the other, a blush satin pair, perfect for an evening out. Now thatās how to dress like a princess in Rome!

*Head to a performance at *Teatro dell'Opera di Roma - ** Just seeing these talented artists performing in this incredible venue is enough to leave you mesmerized for hours!
