Pink Tutu Rome: #1555 🌸🇮🇹

Hello darlings! It’s Wednesday, which means it's time for another fabulous Pink Tutu blog post! This week, I’m bringing you all the glitz and glamour of Rome! I absolutely love the Eternal City – it’s got a unique charm and so much history! I arrived yesterday, straight off the train from Derbyshire, and I can already tell this is going to be a sensational trip.

I'm always up for a good adventure, and there’s no better way to travel than by train. There’s something about those sleek carriages and the whizzing landscapes that just screams “adventure!” Plus, you can slip into your tutu for a bit of train chic, and I've perfected my “tutuling-on-the-train” look over the years. Think ballet pink tights, a sequined T-shirt (that wouldn’t be out of place at a ballet rehearsal!), and, of course, my trusty tutu! 😉

Anyway, back to Rome… The moment I stepped off the train at Roma Termini, I was whisked away by the energy of this incredible city. It's truly buzzing with life. There were street performers, artists, locals and tourists everywhere – the atmosphere was intoxicating. It’s almost impossible to resist being swept up in the charm!

Of course, I had to hit the shops right away – Rome has a fantastic mix of designer boutiques and vintage gems! You just know I couldn't leave without a couple of pink accessories – how could I! A beautiful pink scarf with a Roman coin pattern (I can totally imagine myself waltzing through the Colosseum wearing it) and a pair of dazzling pink earrings. You know me – I’m always looking for ways to add a little sparkle to my look!

The evening was dedicated to exploring the charming cobblestone streets, all beautifully lit up with Roman history around every corner! I was feeling particularly glamorous (pink tutus are known to do that to you) and I’m sure I looked absolutely enchanting as I twirled my way through the crowds. It was truly a magical evening!

I think you all know I can't visit a new city without checking out its ballet scene – it's my life blood! This time, I saw "La Traviata" at Teatro dell'Opera di Roma and oh my goodness, it was exquisite! From the vibrant colours to the incredible voices, it left me utterly spellbound! And the ballerina's pirouette sequence at the end, wow, absolutely breathtaking! It really reminded me why I love ballet so much!

Things to look out for this week in Rome:

  • The Trevi Fountain: It wouldn't be a trip to Rome without a visit to this iconic fountain, so you can bet your tutu I’m going to toss in a coin for good luck. Plus, I hear there's some pretty fabulous street art near it!
  • The Borghese Gallery: I’m all about a good art collection, and this one is definitely on the list. Plus, it’s housed in a beautiful palace – I hear there are some magnificent gardens too. It’s bound to inspire me for a few new dance moves!
  • More shows! The schedule is absolutely packed – I’m determined to catch another show or two this week, preferably something completely different. Anything from Shakespeare to a dazzling opera – I’m up for it!

I’m planning a trip to the Vatican on Sunday. Of course, a pink tutu will be making an appearance – the Vatican might be known for its papal attire, but a little bit of pink never hurt anyone. 😉

Fashion Tips:

Rome is a city full of fashion inspiration! * Make sure to bring a statement dress for all those Roman dinners and walks. A little black dress is a must, but don't forget a dash of pink to make it extra special! * Accessorise! A stylish hat, statement necklace, or scarf can instantly transform your look. * A bold red lip! You know how much I love a bold lip. It just makes you look and feel powerful – like you could conquer anything, including Rome!

Speaking of power, I have so much more to share with you about my Rome adventures! Join me next week on Wednesday, the 26th, for another exciting blog post from www.pink-tutu.com. Until then, keep twirling, my dears, and remember, always add a splash of pink! 🌸🇮🇹
