Ciao Bella! Welcome back to Pink Tutu, my lovely readers! This week I'm bursting with excitement – I’ve landed in Rome! The Eternal City is just as magical as they say, full of history, art, and delicious food! But, let's be honest, I couldn't be here without my trusty pink tutu – because let's face it, what's a trip to Italy without a little pink flair?!
The journey, darling, the journey! I've gotta say, I’m a huge fan of train travel. There’s just something so romantic about it, and the views from the window were breathtaking. Watching the rolling countryside slowly morph into the stunning Italian landscape is just so beautiful. I may have gotten a few funny looks as I boarded with my tutu neatly tucked under my arm, but hey, that’s the Pink Tutu life, right?
Speaking of my fabulous travelling tutu, it's a perfect pink with a lovely tulle ruffle. Just picture it - swishing in the wind as I take in the iconic Roman landmarks. I may not be twirling on a stage, but my tutu is certainly adding a touch of balletic elegance to every cobblestone street.
Now, let’s get to the real fun. Where to begin? The Colosseum was a true showstopper, just as magnificent in person as I'd imagined. Standing amongst the ruins, I couldn't help but imagine the gladiatorial combats and the roar of the crowds. My little tutu, well, it was quite the picture of pink against that ancient backdrop!
Then there was the Vatican, home to the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. Let’s just say the art was magnificent and I definitely took a few pictures, tut-tastic poses included, naturally! There’s a reason Rome is known as the heart of the Catholic world - it’s a place where spirituality and art truly collide. And let’s be real, my heart was practically skipping a beat in that divine space.
A Feast for the Senses:
This trip has been a true feast for my senses – from the divine gelato to the fragrant pizzas and the endless supply of delicious coffee. Let's not forget the endless supply of Italian fashion that has been tantalising my shopaholic heart. Rome, my darlings, is just oozing style and a love of beautiful things!
Oh, and the shopping, the shopping! Via Condotti, the street lined with designer boutiques, was an absolute delight. My inner shopaholic had to be restrained! Seriously, those Italian brands are a girl's dream. I managed to snag a couple of dreamy pieces to take home, but I'll save those for a Pink Tutu Fashion Special coming up in the next couple of weeks.
*A Little Something Extra: *
You can't be in Italy, especially in Rome, without indulging in a little bit of culture, right? The Opera House, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, had a magnificent ballet show this weekend - an incredible production of Swan Lake. You could feel the energy in the room – pure, raw magic. It was the perfect ending to my day!
Speaking of dance…
This weekend I'm planning to find a fabulous local ballet studio and attend a drop-in class. Now, where would a dancer find the best Italian dancing in Rome? I’m open to any suggestions my lovely readers!
It’s all about finding the magic, you know!
Each and every corner of Rome has its own magic - and it doesn't just stop with history, culture, and the delectable food. The magic is in the warm sun, the charming streets, the buzzing city energy, and the little glimpses into local life that make Rome so unforgettable. Oh, and that pink tutu of mine, of course.
Here’s the Pink Tutu motto - find the sparkle wherever you are, and then share it with the world! I know you can all rock a pink tutu!
See you all next week, when I'll be back from the Eternal City with more Italian adventures to share! Until then, stay stylish, and keep the pink tutu spirit alive!
Big, big kisses
Emma
