Pink Tutu Rome - #1747: Ciao Bella from the Eternal City!

Wednesday 2028-11-29

Buongiorno from the Eternal City, darlings! I'm writing to you from the heart of Rome, where the ancient ruins are practically overflowing with romance and the cobblestone streets whisper stories of emperors and gladiators. Let me tell you, it's positively electric here!

But enough about ancient history (although I will absolutely be telling you about my Roman adventures in due course!). Today is all about me - and you've probably already guessed by the pinkest of pink hues adorning this post that my Roman adventure has involved a very special, very fabulous outfit.

I couldn't resist whipping out my Pink Ballerina Romper, a bespoke number from La Boutique Pink, complete with a delicate tulle skirt that just begs for a twirl! (Imagine me whirling through the Piazza Navona, practically a vision of pink-clad perfection!).

I found this beauty in a hidden boutique on the cobbled side streets, crammed amongst vintage silk scarves and glittering brooches. It took a good hour of gentle persuasion (along with a little whispered "pretty please") before I convinced the lady behind the counter to let me have it, but the end result is absolutely glorious. The silk bodice hugs my figure beautifully and the tulle is like a cloud - you could literally float around the Colosseum in it!

Anyway, back to Rome… This week's #PinkTutuRome adventure started with a long but utterly blissful train ride down from Derbyshire. My trusty travel companion - my oversized pink duffle bag filled with just the right selection of twirl-worthy garments and ballet shoes - joined me on the journey. Nothing beats the view of rolling countryside slipping by as you drift off to the rhythm of the train tracks. Especially with a selection of pink macarons and a hot cuppa for company.

Upon arriving in Rome, I was immediately smitten with the buzzing energy and the romance that simply shrieks from every cobbled corner. There are pink gelato stands (naturally!), beautiful Renaissance paintings hidden around the city, and just enough dolce vita to satisfy the most discerning fashionista (that's me, by the way!).

But I'm not all about the frills, darlings. You know me, I have a very strict balance system. Whilst my days are filled with tutus and tulle, evenings are all about elegant performances, captivating stories told through graceful movements and heart-stoppingly beautiful music. This week's treat? I snagged the very last ticket for a breathtaking performance of Swan Lake at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. Just imagining those perfectly timed pirouettes and graceful swans taking to the stage in the heart of Rome...well, I’m already filled with ballet bliss.

Speaking of ballet bliss – have you seen my newest ballet creation?! It’s a beautiful rendition of a whimsical woodland scene set to Vivaldi's ‘The Four Seasons’. Imagine fluttering leaves, ethereal sprites, and playful little forest creatures – a true feast for the eyes, set to some of the most delightful music ever written! This piece premiered last month in London, but I'm already planning to bring it to Rome – perhaps at the Colosseum? A ballerina surrounded by Roman history… just the kind of story that I love!

I can already feel the Roman magic filling me with inspiration, and I know that you'll be seeing lots of that reflected in future #PinkTutuRome posts! We'll be delving deeper into the heart of the city – perhaps exploring the Trevi fountain, soaking up the culture at a traditional Italian cafe, or maybe even brushing up on my ballet skills with a few lessons in the historic streets of Rome. (After all, even ballerinas need a good stretching every now and then!)

Remember, darlings, the #PinkTutuLife is all about spreading joy, expressing ourselves, and twirling around the world. Stay tuned for all my Roman adventures and, in the meantime, remember:

Every day is a chance to dance!

Ciao for now, my lovelies!

Emma x
