Pink Tutu Rome: Adventures in the Eternal City!

#PinkTutuRome

Ciao bella! ?

It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad traveller, and welcome back to my weekly adventures! Today I'm taking you with me to the most fabulous city in the world - Rome! This is blog post number 1766 and it’s all about the wonder that is the Eternal City. You can read my Rome blogs each week on a Wednesday here on www.pink-tutu.com.

I love travelling, you guys already know that! There's nothing I love more than hopping on a train to somewhere new, a big city like London, a countryside escape or a weekend trip to Europe. My journey to Rome started with a gorgeous vintage train journey, the Eurostar through the Channel Tunnel was so lovely.

This week in Rome I'm embracing everything this iconic city has to offer – delicious food, stunning architecture, and, of course, some fabulous shopping! You can imagine my joy when I landed at Termini Station, hopped onto the metro, and headed straight for the Via Condotti, Rome’s luxury shopping district. My credit card's still sobbing, but hey, a girl's gotta stay fashionable! ?

Speaking of fashion, my Rome wardrobe is seriously next-level chic. Think pastel pink silk blouses paired with vintage Chanel-inspired tweed jackets, flowing chiffon skirts, and of course, my signature pink tutu! Even in Rome, I'm bringing my signature style wherever I go, spreading my pink tutu love.

Of course, no trip to Rome is complete without experiencing the incredible ballet scene. Last night, I took in a performance of "La Bayadere" at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. The dancers were stunning, their moves so elegant and powerful. There is nothing more satisfying to watch than professional dancers in their tutus! This trip was so special and made me so very excited for a new season in England.

And speaking of ballet, my next big adventure in Rome is a ballet workshop at the Rome Academy of Dance. I've always wanted to experience ballet classes in a different country, and this is an opportunity to really immerse myself in a new style of training.

As you know, I love learning about history and discovering new places. Yesterday I visited the Colosseum and couldn't believe how massive and imposing it is. Even after all the years it’s still the biggest most impressive stadium I have ever seen. Walking through the tunnels where gladiators and wild animals once passed felt like a glimpse into another time. It’s a powerful and humbling place. I loved walking the Palatine Hill after the Colosseum, it’s so peaceful and charming and gives the best view of the city and the Roman Forum. Rome is certainly a city steeped in history.

But my favourite part of this trip is definitely the food! Last night I dined at a lovely Italian trattoria with my dear friend, Clara, a lovely woman who shares my passion for fashion and dance, who I met on my recent trip to France, and she is just as glamorous as you can imagine. I had the most delectable gnocchi – seriously, I think it's my new favourite comfort food. And Clara? Well, she indulged in the freshest tagliatelle with a delightful pesto sauce. The tiramisu, we shared, of course, was pure bliss.

Later today, I’m meeting up with Clara again to wander the cobbled streets of Trastevere. Trastevere is known for its traditional Roman restaurants and stunning ancient squares. I've heard there are some absolutely stunning churches in Trastevere as well, including the beautiful Santa Maria in Trastevere.

Clara and I will find the perfect spot for an al fresco lunch, sipping on a refreshing Limonata, soaking up the atmosphere, and simply enjoying life. And who knows? We might even spot some Roman street performers dressed up in colourful tutus. You just never know when you’re going to encounter a pink tutu twin in Rome.

For all of you watching, my trip to Rome is proving to be even more amazing than I could have imagined. The city is so beautiful, and the people are so kind.

And if you haven't tried it yet, you HAVE to have the gelato! There’s nothing quite like indulging in creamy gelato on a warm Roman evening. Trust me, it’s an experience that’s worth every lick! ?

I'll be back next week with more from the Eternal City! Don’t forget, check in on me on Wednesdays, and make sure you follow me on Instagram at www.instagram.com/pinktutu.

Ciao for now!

Emma x
