Hey, fellow dance lovers! It’s Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood ballerina and blogger, back with a new post. Spring is finally here, and you know what that means… TUTU TIME!
The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and I'm bursting with the urge to twirl in something pretty and new. And what better place to start your tutu shopping than the lovely town of Bridgwater?
Bridgwater may be best known for its carnival, but it also hides a treasure trove of amazing dance shops just waiting to be discovered. Forget those boring old ballet leotards, because this town has it all - from classic tutus to shimmering sequin gowns, there's a perfect look for every ballerina and dance enthusiast!
Where to find your dream tutu?
Don’t worry, I've got you covered with my totally reliable Emma’s Dancewear Guide! 😉
1. The Dance Studio: This lovely shop has everything your dance heart could possibly desire, all tucked away in a quaint corner of town. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to help you find your perfect fit.
Why I love it:
- Great selection of tutus: From classical to modern styles, there’s a tutu to fit any budget and taste.
- Cute, frilly stuff for the younger ones: My niece has the cutest little pink tutus from here! They’re so adorable I could burst. 💖
- Affordable prices: I’m not always ready to break the bank for my tutu shopping, but this shop definitely caters to a range of budgets.
2. Ballet Central: Nestled in a quiet, pretty side street, this shop is a bit of a hidden gem! It boasts a fantastic range of ballet clothes, shoes, and accessories, but their real standout is their stunning collection of pointe shoes. They really know their stuff!
Why I love it:
- Beautiful pointe shoes: They offer an incredible selection of pointe shoes from all the leading brands, and the staff are incredibly helpful in finding the perfect fit.
- Trendy, stylish options: While Ballet Central caters to classic dancers, they also stock stylish leotards and tights in beautiful, modern colors and designs that scream “spring fashion” – just perfect for class!
3. The Fabric Emporium: Don't let the name fool you! This little fabric shop also stocks all the amazing crafting supplies you need to whip up a custom tutu! If you’re a bit of a sewing wizard and love that personalized look, this place is definitely for you.
Why I love it:
- Endless fabric possibilities: They have every imaginable color and texture, from shimmering tulle to delicate lace, perfect for channeling your inner ballerina seamstress.

- DIY delight: So many people ask me for tutu crafting tips, but honestly, it’s really hard to get everything I need – except at the Fabric Emporium.
4. Online shopping – Don’t Forget About It! I get it – you might prefer to physically see everything. But let’s face it, sometimes online shopping is a lifesaver, and Bridgwater has its fair share of great online shops.
Why I love online shopping:
- Amazing deals: From time to time you can find real bargains online that you won’t see anywhere else! And that can be great if you’re a real budget ballerina.
- Everything is delivered to your door: This is amazing when you don’t feel like a trip to town, or are buying loads of stuff for class and want to save your aching limbs from heavy bags!
