Spring time Tutu Shopping in Europe

Paris, Ooh La La! Tutu Shopping in the City of Lights đŸ©°

Hey lovelies! Emma here, and guess what? Spring has officially sprung, which means it's time for
tutu shopping! 💃 That's right, my fellow dance enthusiasts, I'm talking all things frills, feathers, and fabulous footwear. And where better to embark on this sartorial adventure than the city that never sleeps – Paris!

Bonjour, Beautiful Balletwear!

This charming city is like a dream come true for a tutu-obsessed girl like me. With its cobblestone streets, chic boutiques, and oh-so-romantic atmosphere, Paris practically whispers "Come, discover the world of ballet fashion!" From the legendary Palais Garnier opera house to the bustling Marais district, Paris is brimming with stunning ballet stores and designers waiting to dress your ballerina dreams.

Get Your Ballerina On: Parisian Picks

Here's the lowdown on some of the must-visit spots for all things ballet-inspired, from tutu heaven to comfy, chic dancewear that you can actually live in (even if it doesn't involve leaping across the stage!)

1. The Iconic: Repetto

Repetto, the name synonymous with iconic dancewear, needs no introduction. It's like walking into a time capsule of elegant, timeless designs. Here you'll find the perfect mix of practicality and style. Think classic black leotards, sleek ballet shoes in a rainbow of colours, and yes, the most divine tutu for a ballerina like me – *cough cough, my *dream tutu, in a stunning shade of pink (obvs). They have this incredible “Pink Powder” tulle that practically floats on you, it’s dreamy. My Parisian adventure would not be complete without stepping into a Repetto store and indulging in a little retail therapy, let’s just say it’s been a few years!

2. A Fashionable Fusion: La Maison du Ballet

For the dancer with a savoir faire and a love of everything chic, La Maison du Ballet is an absolute must-visit. They’re just next to the Louvre – talk about good neighbours – and here you’ll find top quality tutus and accessories to complement any ballerina wardrobe. My recent trip was all about a cute vintage pink leotard with lace detailing – super chic for class, I’ve worn it with high-waisted black pants too and got loads of compliments on that, super trendy! They have such a good selection of colours too.

3. For the Dancewear Enthusiast: Le Ballet Shop

Looking for that perfect gift? Maybe you want to surprise your dance bestie or indulge yourself (we won’t judge, I promise). If so, then look no further than Le Ballet Shop, located on the famous Boulevard Saint-Germain. It’s the go-to for gorgeous ballet wear with everything from shoes and tutus to dance bags and adorable pink tights (that must have those lovely seams down the back – always!) They even have cute little outfits for those ballerinas in training. Think about the adorableness of a mini tutu with little leggings – so sweet!

4. The Independent Boutique Experience: Danse et DĂ©lices

Independent boutiques are always my favourite and Paris does them like nowhere else. Danse et DĂ©lices in the charming Quartier Latin, will give you a feeling of genuine artistry. The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful - it's all about helping you find that special something, whether you're on the hunt for the perfect leotard or need the right shoes for your latest pointe work ( I’m working up to that part, fingers crossed!), or even something super special for your next ballet recital. They have the most amazing selection of tutus and even handmade costumes. Talk about the perfect statement piece.

Parisian Delights Beyond Balletwear:

While we’re in this stylish city let’s not forget Paris is also an epicentre of fashion and style. Who wouldn't want to channel some of that fabulous Parisian vibe? So, take a break from the ballet shops (although I have no doubt that’s a struggle, but trust me when I say you won't regret it!). Here are a few places where you can tap into the Parisian style that’s perfect for a ballerina with a dash of flair:

1. For Vintage Glamour: The Marais

Head to the vibrant Marais district and dive into its network of vintage clothing shops. There's so much to discover here from beautiful vintage dresses to stunning leather jackets – that'll give you all the effortlessly chic vibes. It’s perfect for picking out the right outfit for that coffee with the girls after you’ve treated yourself to some new ballet gear, obvs!

2. A Touch of Luxury: Rue Saint-Honoré

If you're in the mood for a touch of luxury, Rue Saint-HonorĂ© is where to be! It’s like walking through a dream in designer fashion! It’s the place for designer brands like Chanel, Dior, and HermĂšs – perfect for adding that final flourish to your Parisian chic! You’ve found your perfect tutus, you’re ready to be fabulous, but maybe it's time for the finishing touches?

3. Embrace Your Inner Parisian: Le Bon Marché

Don't forget to check out the iconic department store, Le Bon MarchĂ©. It’s the perfect blend of luxurious fashion, delectable food halls, and unique homeware – truly something for everyone! I always pop in for some macarons from LadurĂ©e, or a fancy coffee from a Parisian bakery! Bonjour, sugar rush!

Beyond the Ballet Boutique: Parisian Moments to Treasure

Of course, Parisian shopping isn't all about ballet wear and luxury designer stores, right? You know the best things are often those little gems tucked away on hidden streets – the ones you don’t necessarily expect, but end up being the best finds! You'll find your perfect balance here – so here are some things that I find are worth adding to your Parisian adventure, whether you’re with the girls, a solo adventure, or exploring with someone special, don't miss these!

  • Lunch at a local cafĂ©: No trip to Paris would be complete without enjoying a leisurely lunch at a Parisian cafĂ©. It's the quintessential Parisian experience! There’s no rush – relax and people watch while you savour your croissant or a classic salad.
  • Wander through a Jardin: Let your imagination run wild exploring some of the charming Parisian gardens and flower markets. Stroll through the Jardin du Luxembourg, or head to the iconic Tuileries Garden, you’ll be transported to another era - it’s almost like being inside a Monet painting.
  • Indulge in the sights: Immerse yourself in the beautiful sights, architectural wonders, and artistic brilliance that only Paris can offer. See the Mona Lisa at the Louvre, take a walk across the iconic Eiffel Tower, and enjoy a performance at the magnificent Palais Garnier. These are experiences that'll truly make your trip special!
  • Be Inspired!: Paris, for me, is about discovering yourself - not just in ballet wear! I'm always searching for something that ignites my passions, sparks new ideas, and motivates me to keep pushing. Whether it's the graceful elegance of a ballerina on stage or the romantic aura of the city, let it feed your creativity and inspire you.

Paris, My Love, I'll be back
