Tutu Time! Shopping for Spring Sparkle in Ruislip
Hey loves! Spring is in the air and with it comes a whole new season of gorgeous ballet wear. So grab your bestie, pack a picnic, and get ready to hit the shops! This little ballerina is so excited to share her Ruislip Tutu Trail with you.
Ruislip's a gem for dancers - not only is it surrounded by beautiful greenery, perfect for twirling practice, but there are a ton of stores bursting with adorable tutu and dancewear goodness. I'm talking tutus that would make even the most seasoned prima ballerina swoon. And for a budding ballerina like me, there's no better way to celebrate spring than with a fresh outfit or two, right?
Now, let's dive into the tutu-licious treasures I discovered on my Ruislip adventure!
Pink Perfection at Dancewear GaloreFirst up, my absolute favourite, Dancewear Galore on Station Road. This place is like a candy shop for dancers. Pink is my all-time fave and you can literally smell it in this place - I kid you not! The shop is just overflowing with beautiful pinks - from pastel blush to the brightest hot pink, there's a pink tutu waiting for you. They've got EVERYTHING you could ever dream of - tutus, leotards, tights, dance shoes…you name it, they've got it. And let's be real, with a name like "Dancewear Galore", how can you resist?! The friendly staff are super knowledgeable too - they helped me find the perfect tutu for my upcoming performance!
Trendy Threads at Boutique DanceJust around the corner on Manor Road, Boutique Dance is the place to go for trendy, high-quality dancewear. They’ve got a fab range of cute and quirky leotards with stunning prints and colors that scream “spring.” The owner, Maria, is a gem – she's really passionate about dance and gives brilliant advice on everything from finding the perfect fit to nailing your hair bun. She's also super clued up on all the latest trends and even let me try on some adorable new tutus before they hit the floor. (Secret tip - follow her on Instagram for the exclusive scoop on new arrivals).
Beyond Dancewear: A Touch of Elegance at Sarah’s BoutiqueFor that elegant ballerina vibe, check out Sarah’s Boutique, on West End Road. They’ve got an amazing selection of flowy dresses, skirts, and tops perfect for a casual ballet look, especially if you want something super girly for a fancy performance. They also have gorgeous dance shoes, bags, and even little ballet-themed trinkets for a bit of added charm. Sarah herself is a true fashionista, with a keen eye for stylish pieces. Trust me, a little bit of elegance never hurt anyone!
My Ultimate Spring Tutu HaulSo, what did I nab on my spree? I snagged a stunning lilac tutu from Dancewear Galore with the softest tulle ever. I also picked up a cute, pastel blue leotard with little floral details at Boutique Dance and some matching tights - talk about a combo! I couldn’t resist treating myself to a new pair of ballet slippers in Sarah’s Boutique, because let's face it, even a ballerinas gotta be comfy in their ballet slippers!
Bonus: The Ruislip Tutu Trail - For the Ballerina with an Adventurous SideNow, here's a fun one for those who truly love to explore. I decided to add some excitement to my shopping by creating the Ruislip Tutu Trail! I basically mapped out my favorite dancewear spots in a fun little circuit. You could even start at the station (I found some adorable dancewear shops near the station too!). Combine this with a picnic in the park or grab some hot chocolate from a cozy cafe, and it's the perfect spring outing for you and your ballet squad. (P.S. I love tagging #tutushop on social media. You should definitely do it too! 😜)

Ruislip - More than just tutusAnd speaking of exploring, let's be honest, Ruislip isn’t just about the dancewear. The village has some seriously cute boutiques for those little extras, as well as coffee shops for taking a little breather during your shopping marathon. There’s nothing quite like the scent of coffee and the soft whirring of a sewing machine to get those creative juices flowing!
The End? Never!Honestly, Ruislip has it all! From finding the perfect tutu to grabbing a post-shop coffee and pastry, I guarantee you’ll love your day out exploring. So get ready to twirl, shop, and let your inner ballerina shine, girl! And remember, always have fun and wear a smile on that face.
Love, Emma XOXO
