Wishaw: Your Tutu Wonderland Awaits! 🩰🌸
Hey beautiful dancers!
It's Emma here, and spring has officially sprung! That means one thing - it's time for a new tutu, or maybe two! 😉 As the weather gets warmer, my love for tutus only seems to grow stronger. The soft pinks, the flirty frills, the lightness of it all...it's like my own personal fairytale! And Wishaw is actually a perfect little spot to find some truly fabulous tutus. So grab your besties and let's go on a magical tutu shopping spree! 💖
Wishaw's Dance Emporium:
I'm a sucker for a good independent shop and "The Dance Emporium" on Main Street is a real gem! They've been serving dancers in Wishaw for years, and they know their stuff. This is the perfect place to find those high-quality tutus that make you feel like a ballerina straight out of a fairytale. They carry tutus of all shapes, sizes and colours (you're guaranteed to find a gorgeous pink in there!) Whether you're after a romantic, flowing skirt or something a bit more sleek and sophisticated, The Dance Emporium has you covered. They also have a fantastic selection of dance shoes, tights, leotards, warm-up wear, and even hair accessories - everything you need for your dancing needs. They offer sizing advice too, so don’t be shy!
Bargain Hunting:
For a true treasure hunt, I always recommend hitting up the charity shops and secondhand stores in Wishaw! These can be a gold mine for dancewear bargains! A couple of my personal favourites are "The Wishaw Re-Use Project" on Greenhill Road and "Save the Children" on Newmains Road. You might need to sift through a few racks but you never know what little dance gems you might discover. Plus, it's super sustainable, so you can dance the day away while being kind to the planet. ♻️
The Fashion-Forward Choice:
If you’re looking for a boutique experience with a bit more “oomph,” then the lovely ladies at "Elegance Dancewear" on the High Street have you covered. Their modern and stylish tutus are not your standard fair, with some more unique designs. It's a fab place for tutus you won't find everywhere else! I love the pops of colour and the trendy details. And be sure to check out their stunning range of accessories and fashion jewellery. Adding a statement earring or a colourful necklace can totally transform a basic leotard into a full-on fashion moment. 😉
Making a Tutu Day of It!:
No matter which store you choose to visit, a tutu shopping trip wouldn’t be complete without a little fuel for your shopping frenzy. The classic option has to be "The Italian Caffe" on Wilson Street for delicious coffee and cake! They even have lovely outdoor seating when the weather is good. Or head over to the "The Town Tavern" on Main Street for more of a pub vibe and great food to enjoy before hitting up the shops!
But remember! This trip isn't just about tutus! It's about enjoying your favourite hobby and connecting with fellow dance enthusiasts in your community! You might even meet some lovely locals with shared dance stories and interests!
My Tip?
Grab your best dance friend or maybe even some newbies and turn your tutu shopping spree into a real “girlie day” extravaganza! Treat yourself to a little brunch, share your favourite dance routines and let's make memories together!
