Worthing: Tutu Shopping Heaven - A Springtime Ballet Fashion Guide

Hey lovely dancers! 🩰

Spring is in the air, the sun is shining (most of the time!), and I'm itching for some new ballet gear. What better time than spring to get a gorgeous new tutu, a flirty leotard, and a whole bunch of pretty ballet accessories to take my classes to the next level? So, I'm making a trip to Worthing - my go-to spot for all things ballet-related - and I'm going to take you all with me!

For those of you who haven't been, Worthing is a delightful seaside town with a charming old-town and a surprisingly good selection of ballet shops. We'll be exploring the independent gems that hide amidst the traditional boutiques, discovering those secret treasures that have been just waiting for you.

Let's get started! Here's my must-visit ballet shop guide, brimming with everything you need to feel fabulous and ready for springtime dance:

Shop Number 1: The Dancewear Den

My first stop will definitely be the Dancewear Den! Located in the heart of the town centre, it's the perfect place to browse for the essentials:

  • Leotards: Think sassy cuts and bold colours for spring. I’m always drawn to leotards in fresh shades like mint green, baby blue and of course - pink! You can never have too much pink. 🌸 They have a great range of styles from classic to modern, with plenty of options for all shapes and sizes.
  • Tights: I’m looking for that springy colour. Ballet pinks are always lovely, or why not try a fresh floral print?
  • Shoes: This shop is also my go-to for shoes - they have a huge selection of ballet pumps and pointe shoes for all levels.
  • Warm-up Wear: We all know how cold the studio can get in the mornings so warm-up wear is an absolute essential.

The Dancewear Den - A Quick Tip

  • I’ve always found that they stock amazing deals in the “Sale” section - it's worth spending a few minutes digging around, as you could find a hidden treasure at a steal!

Shop Number 2: Danceworx

Danceworx is nestled in the quieter part of town, perfect for a little detour on your way back to the train station. This is where I go for that ultimate dancer feel-good experience. It's definitely one of those stores you could spend hours in:

  • Tutus: Danceworx has the absolute best selection of tutus I’ve found. They are all beautiful. Forget cheap plastic - these are high-quality tutus with proper fabrics, lovely cuts and colours that you will adore. Whether you're after a romantic, flowing tutu, a sleek and elegant option or even something with a hint of contemporary style, Danceworx is your one-stop shop.
  • Accessories: Now, here’s where it gets really fun. Danceworx stocks gorgeous ribbons, hair clips, and dance jewellery – I'm absolutely in love with their sparkling butterfly clips.
  • Dance Bags: Danceworx is a champion of statement bags, offering trendy options in every colour and style imaginable.

Danceworx - A Quick Tip: * Always ask about their current promotions and packages. You can often grab a bargain and end up with a fab outfit for a very reasonable price.

Shop Number 3: Ballet Boutique

Worthing's Ballet Boutique is truly an independent treasure. It's tucked away on a quiet side street, and you might even need to go off the beaten path a little bit to find it, but the shop’s quaint charm makes it all worthwhile. This boutique is perfect for the unique dancer and here’s why:

  • Exclusive Designs: This shop is full of exquisite and unique handmade items. You won't find these pieces just anywhere - you're bound to find some hidden gems with quirky, creative designs.
  • Eco-conscious: Ballet Boutique really emphasizes sustainable and ethical practice. If you're looking for something with a more eco-friendly approach, this is the place to be.
  • Individual Attention: The shop owners are always warm and friendly, and they provide individual attention. This makes shopping here a more intimate and personal experience.

Ballet Boutique - A Quick Tip: * Check out their Instagram for a preview of the latest offerings, or drop them a message for personalized recommendations. They're super responsive!

Worthing: The Complete Spring Ballet Shopping Experience

This ballet-inspired guide just scrapes the surface of what Worthing has to offer! Worthing is my favorite place for shopping.

My trip wouldn’t be complete without a stop at "Cafe Blanc." This cute, little coffee shop is just next door to Ballet Boutique, and they serve amazing cakes and hot drinks – I’m obsessed with their lattes!

A Few Final Tips

  • Wear comfortable shoes, as you'll be doing a lot of walking.
  • Bring a bag to carry all your new purchases - you'll definitely need one!
  • Don't be afraid to ask the staff for advice. They are always happy to help, especially with sizing or getting the right style.

Spring Fashion For My Fellow Dancers:

You're gonna need a special outfit for the studio now, right? 😉 * Here are a few spring fashion trends to get you inspired.

  1. Pastels, Pretty Please!: Soft pastels and delicate floral prints are a sure way to embrace the spring vibes. Think light pinks, lavenders, baby blues and mint greens!
  2. Floral Fantasy: Why not try a floral patterned leotard, a flower hair clip, or even a cute little floral dance bag.
  3. The Sparkle Factor: There's something about sparkle that makes you feel amazing! Find yourself a glittering accessory like a hairpiece or a few sparkly ankle bracelets.

Worthing - My Perfect Ballet Escape

Whether you’re looking for an adorable new tutu, a cozy dance hoodie, or simply a day out for a bit of ballet fun, Worthing is the perfect place.

I'll be back to Worthing soon with a full suitcase and an empty bank account. Let me know what you've bought!

Until next time…
