Plymouth: Pink Perfection and a Pony Ride! 🩰💖

Hello my darling dears! It's Emma here, your pink-tutu-clad guide to the world of ballet, sparkle, and, of course, a whole lot of pink. Today's adventures took me to the beautiful seaside town of Plymouth, and it was simply divine. As ever, my trusty pink tutu made the journey with me, swirling like a candy floss cloud on the breeze.

Plymouth Station greeted me with its charming Victorian architecture. As I stepped off the train, a seagull landed on the roof, mimicking my pink tulle with its own elegant plumage. A stroke of good fortune! A taxi whisked me to my destination - a magnificent old theatre where I'd secured tickets for the annual "Ballet on the Coast" festival.

Inside the theatre, I was greeted by a whirlwind of energy and colour. Pink was, of course, heavily represented! (I swear I saw a woman sporting a hot pink feather boa and matching eyeshadow – I am so stealing that look for next week!). There was an electric buzz in the air as dancers from all over the country prepped for the show. The music from the warm-up session even seeped out into the bustling streets – the rhythm and swirl of it making my heart leap and my toes twitch! I could not resist, I had to do some impromptu pliés and tendus by the theatre steps! Luckily no one seemed to mind…

The main performance was a mix of classic ballet pieces and innovative new choreography. My personal highlight was the stunning contemporary dance number set against the backdrop of Plymouth Sound – the waves seemed to dance along with the dancers. And the costuming! I counted at least five tutus with pink elements. The future is certainly bright and pink in the ballet world!

Speaking of bright colours, after the show, a lovely woman called Wendy suggested I take a horse ride on the beach. And guess what, her horse was named Pinkie. Talk about meant to be! My initial trepidation gave way to pure joy as we trotted along the shoreline. The salty air, the sun setting over the water, the rhythmic gait of Pinkie… it was almost as exhilarating as pirouettes!

I found myself feeling so alive, so utterly content with my pink-tutu-wearing self. I know some of you might think this is a silly way to spend a day. You know what? Maybe it is a silly way! But a silly, sparkly, joyous, pink, happy way, that's the point! Sometimes we need to laugh and spin and simply relish the joy that life offers us!

Fashion Moment:

I pair my pink tutu with a denim jacket and a simple white T-shirt. Just because you're wearing pink, doesn’t mean you can’t also be comfortable. For a touch of seaside chic, I added a pair of white sailor boots with silver buckles. They perfectly complemented the turquoise and pink details on my tutu.

Emma’s Travel Tip:

If you're ever in Plymouth, make sure you visit the National Marine Aquarium! It’s a wonderful place to see fascinating seacreatures. And as any ballet dancer will tell you, the ocean is an amazing source of inspiration. Just watch a school of fish swim together – it’s a ballet performance right there!

My pink tutu wishes for you:

May your days be filled with sparkle, laughter, and a hint of pink! Remember that joy can be found in the most unexpected places. So go out there, dance, twirl, and be bold. And who knows, maybe you’ll even find your own Pinkie.

Until next time, my lovelies,

Emma
