TutuBlog #31: Harrowbound & Hunger for a Feast

Oh, my dears! How was your week? Mine was absolutely crammed full of pirouettes and pink. Let me tell you, it’s been a whirl! And the absolute highlight of it all was my trip to Harrow - yes, that Harrow! I’m absolutely bursting to tell you all about it. But first, tea and cake.

Outfit Deets: It goes without saying, pink was the order of the day! I simply adore how it pairs with the delicate frills and lace of a good tutu. My absolute favourite recently? My new 'Berry Blast' creation. It’s a stunning fuchsia-pink tulle confection with cascading layers, embroidered with a sweet sprinkle of miniature edible berries! The absolute pièce de résistance is the silk sash tied around my waist, adorned with a hand-painted floral pattern that literally bursts with vibrant colour! Talk about a real 'showstopper'.

My London Adventure: Now, let's talk about Harrow. I can’t tell you how excited I was to arrive. This charming town, with its winding streets, cosy cafes, and historic houses, just radiated a certain air. Imagine a quintessential English village - but just a hop, skip, and a jump from London’s bustle. It’s truly enchanting!

My day started with a visit to Harrow School, which was a sheer delight. It’s one of the most famous boarding schools in the country, you know, where those posh lads wear those fabulous uniforms with those jaunty hats! I swear, every time I’m at a private school, I feel like I'm stepping into a vintage film!

Now, my dearest friends, no visit to Harrow would be complete without a visit to their most prestigious place: St. Mary's Church. Standing tall against the azure sky, this ancient place has witnessed the passage of time for centuries. The architectural splendour and the peacefulness that radiated from its hallowed halls made me feel an overwhelming sense of awe.

Of course, no trip would be complete without a gastronomic adventure, and Harrow definitely did not disappoint! I found the most delectable pastry shop called ‘The Little Bakery’, overflowing with scrumptious goodies. My favourite was definitely their ‘Lemon Posset Tart’, a melt-in-your-mouth creation with a perfectly sharp tang, a true triumph!

Balancing the Ballet:

Now, don't be fooled, dear readers, even in my travels, my beloved ballet never leaves my side! I was delighted to discover that the local theatre in Harrow hosts a fantastic annual ballet competition! Talk about a true inspiration. There were budding ballerinas of all ages performing their hearts out with a genuine, infectious passion. I couldn't help but marvel at the dedication of these young dancers – they truly were breathtaking!

You see, my friends, that's what I love about the ballet community: it’s all about spreading joy and encouragement. Ballet can take us beyond language, beyond culture, it connects us all. From tiny tots in their first tutu, to seasoned professionals gliding across the stage, it’s truly an inclusive and inspiring force.

Pink Paradise:

Let me tell you, you couldn't step into Harrow without spotting a sprinkle of pink! Even the gardens at Harrow School seemed to burst with colour! I saw fuchsia peonies, pink lilies, and blush roses. Every flower whispered tales of elegance and charm. It was almost as if Harrow itself was decked out for a ballet performance!

Of course, I wouldn’t be myself without wearing my pink tulle tutu while I wandered through these enchanting landscapes, the sun catching the swirling fabric, making it almost seem as if it were floating above the grass. And trust me, darling, those flowers had nothing on my skirt – my pinkness was legendary!

Next Week’s Adventures:

Next week, I’m heading off to a little gem nestled in the heart of Derbyshire - Chatsworth House! You know, the magnificent house with the astounding gardens? And get this, they’re even hosting a special garden party with horses! Now, I absolutely adore horses – imagine my delight, you simply can’t fathom!

But darling, stay tuned for my next blog post as I’ll be spilling the tea on all the glamour and fun of my upcoming adventure. I just know you’ll want to join me.

Until then, stay beautiful, stay fabulous, and don’t forget to twirl your way into the weekend!

XOXO,

Emma
