Hammersmith Hoorah! Tutu Adventures (Post #55)

Hello lovelies! It's Emma here, your resident tutu enthusiast, writing to you from the bustling streets of Hammersmith! I've traded my Derbyshire hills for London's concrete jungle (though a girl can dream of trotting through the city on a majestic steed, can't she? ๐Ÿ˜‰) for a special mission: ballet, ballet, ballet!

Today's blog is all about my Hammersmith adventure, a whirlwind of twirling and giggles in the name of the most beautiful art form: ballet!

As usual, my trusty white tutu, which I named "Snowflake" after that crisp, fluffy ballet classic, accompanied me on my travels. We arrived in Hammersmith after a scenic train journey, which is always an experience in itself! Nothing beats watching the world zoom past, listening to the rhythm of the tracks, and soaking up the ever-changing landscape. The world is my stage, you see!

The day began with a visit to the world-renowned ballet school, the Royal Ballet School. I must say, it's almost magical! Stepping through those hallowed doors is like entering a sanctuary dedicated to artistry and grace. Imagine beautiful studios filled with the scent of floor polish and the soft patter of dancers' feet, itโ€™s like entering a world of wonder!

I just had to grab a quick pic in front of the building for Instagram, obviously! ๐Ÿ˜‰ You can't go to a place like that without capturing a moment of your ballerina glory, right? #TutuTravels

My little dance day in Hammersmith wasn't just about soaking up the history, though! I decided to get my own tutu on, literally! I was lucky enough to book a class at the very same school! A proper ballet class, complete with a barre and those iconic floor-to-ceiling mirrors, a little girl's dream come true.

To say I was buzzing with excitement would be an understatement! Let me tell you, nothing compares to that warm-up feeling when your body starts to remember the movements you love. All those hours spent in the studio as a little girl in Derbyshire finally paying off. The thrill of the elegant arabesque, the grace of the dรฉveloppรฉ, and the power of a well-placed pirouette... Ballet truly is a language that speaks to your soul.

After a couple of hours in the studio, my heart (and my legs!) were feeling wonderfully challenged. We even practised some moves from the famous "Swan Lake," one of my absolute all-time favourites! You can tell why the Royal Ballet School has produced some of the greatest dancers in the world, it was truly inspiring!

Then, it was time for the highlight of my Hammersmith adventure: an evening performance at the renowned Lyric Theatre! Itโ€™s just a hop, skip, and a jump from the ballet school, making it the perfect place for a ballet enthusiast like myself!

And the performance itself was truly magical! The ballet was called "Giselle," which is a love story told through incredible movements. I couldn't stop snapping pictures of the graceful ballerinas with their long, flowing tutus. My camera wouldn't stop clicking! They really do make me want to put my dancing shoes on and take to the stage.

It's times like these that make me want to share the joy of ballet with the whole world. If I could, I would give every person on Earth a pink tutu and whisk them away to a beautiful ballet performance! Can you imagine? Pink tutus fluttering through the air, laughter, and pure joy? It's a vision Iโ€™m determined to make a reality, one blog post at a time!

As for me, my heart is brimming with happiness. This whole Hammersmith trip was truly inspiring! The graceful dance, the vibrant city, and the inspiring ballet community. Oh, and the little pink ballet slippers I managed to snag at the local shop - those are coming home with me for sure!

Don't forget, darlings, keep following me at www.pink-tutu.com for more tutu-tastic adventures. I'm on a mission to make the world a pink tutu-wearing, ballet-loving place. One ballerina dream at a time!

See you tomorrow! Until then, happy twirling! ๐Ÿ’–

Emma

P.S. Did you know the lyric theatre has been there since 1902? It's as beautiful from the outside as it is from the inside! I found out because I took a walk around the river afterwards, and it's right by the river bank! What a glorious day it has been. You should see the photos, I got the biggest swan I've ever seen for my photos on the little boat on the Thames too! Now that's something you need to follow me for, I get so lucky sometimes and find the most amazing wildlife wherever I go!
